WHEW! Halfway through the week, you guys! How are things going for you?
So far, my win for the week was definitely getting my “cleaner beauty for average girls” email list up and running! EEK!
It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time because I’ve become more interested in cleaner beauty over the past year, but it can be SO overwhelming. I wanted to create something that helped simplify things for those of you who are interested in it too, Ideally, it will help you make a seamless transition into cleaner beauty by sharing educational tips, tricks and my favorite products that are just as good as your old standby’s! (I.E. avoiding the confusion, head spinning and migraines over what is and isn’t good for you ?)
I’ve received some great feedback so far and I can’t believe it took me so long to rip off the band-aid! If you’re interested, you can join right here!
Another win–so many of my wardrobe staples from last fall and winter are back in stock! I’m rounding up eight of ’em right here–so if you’re looking to get a head start on your Christmas shopping or just looking to add some essentials to your wardrobe, hopefully you’ll love these!
Favorite Wardrobe Staples:
I freaking LOVE these loafers. If leopard isn’t your thing–don’t worry, because they come in just about every other color under the sun, too! They require zero break-in, have never given me blisters and they’re the perfect thing to jazz up an old outfit, but still be really comfy! You can wear from the office to the plane to Saturday brunch! See how I styled them several ways in this post. Sam Edelman is one of my favorite shoe brands and they also make tons of other really cute flats if you’re in the market! Shopbop has a great selection!
My favorite Everlane Silk Button down:
THANKFULLY this never went out of stock, but since I’m wearing it in the above photo, I figured I’d mention it ? My #1 most worn top in my closet, right here. It’s truly the most versatile thing I own–great for layering, and it always make me feel chic, stylish, minimalist, and feminine all at the same time. I wrote a whole post on it and your FAQ’s about it here.
Sizing: I’m wearing a 2 here–it’s a little relaxed fitting so if you want it slimmer you could size down!
Another staple I wear multiple times per week in the fall and winter? My velvet leggings made by SPANX. They were the pants that I was MOST excited to pull out of storage–they are incredibly comfortable, just the right amount of support up top, they are way warmer than normal leggings, and they are SO much cuter! Wear them like sweats or wear them out with booties–these can do no wrong. I love all their pants–shop more here! Commando is the other brand I’d recommend for leggings (especially Faux leather!)
Sizing: True to size
Another very popular go-to in my closet–I actually did a whole post on multiple ways to wear this sweater right over here! They have a newer version that is less fleecy and more sweater-y as well (that description is odd but true ?) This is another one I get a ton of wear out of–I wear it as a cowl neck during the day and then when I go out at night, I’ll tuck it into jeans or a skirt and wear it as an off the shoulder top!
Sizing: Runs big! Size down!
A longggg time GG best-seller EVERY year–Blondo’s tall waterproof suede boots. Note–this year’s version is not OTK–it’s knee high, so they are a little shorter than you see here–but I still think they’re amazing.
The best part about them, aside from being fully waterproofed (!!!) is that they have elastic in the back, so they truly can accommodate all calf sizes. (I have child calves and I’ve never been able to find a budget-friendly pair to fit my small calves–but I also have friends of all sizes who love these boots!)
Sizing: Run true to size
(P.S. my bag from above isn’t in stock in the olive color but they still sell it in lot’s of other colors–it’s the small “Love” bag!)
Everlane is probably my #1 go-to place for nice, classic sweaters. They have very affordable cashmere and the mock-neck I’m wearing here comes in several colors! I love wearing it during the day but it’s nice enough to dress up for a nice dinner as well!
Sizing: Runs true to size, but is a bit cropped!
J.Crew Cocoon Coat: (30% off!)
I know, I keep talking about this coat. But I keep getting questions my reccos for warm wool coats so I feel like I have to post about it every chance I get ? Right now it’s 30% off, so get it fast!
Known formally as “one of the warmest, prettiest non-puffer coats that you can wear in the winter” (the “J.Crew Stadium Cloth Cocoon Coat” for short). J.Crew comes out with this coat every year for good reason, it’s polished, but still insanely warm. It comes in tons of colors! The warmest coats are definitely an investment, but they’ll last for years!
Sizing: J.Crew typically runs large on me, so I size down because I like my jackets more fitted! If you like a lot of room in your jackets to accommodate layers, order your regular size. If not, size down!
