Remember me telling you guys how I hired a professional organizer to come help me get my life together a few weeks back? (Her name is Karla, if you live in Chicago, look her up–I can’t recommend her enough!)
Well–one thing that became crystal clear alarmingly fast as soon as she set foot in my bathroom, is that I was a certified beauty product hoarder.
Together, we perched on the edge of my bathtub and sifted through all of my over-stuffed drawers and bins. I realized that I was hanging on to so many products that I not only didn’t use, but I didn’t even LIKE that much. I mean…why? Have you ever opened your bathroom drawers and surveyed the scene and been like, “AHHH WHERE DID ALL OF YOU COME FROM?!”
I ended up throwing everything out and narrowed my skincare product collection down to a mere handful of items. (PHEW!)
(This is my round-about way of telling you about three masks in particular that happened to pass the very rigorous test and win a spot in my coveted under-the-sink product carousel. I now have one for hair products, and one for skincare products, by the way. That’s it. It’s glorious.)
These three products also all happen to be green. Not just in color, but in, you know–contents. Like a green smoothie for your face, kind of. If you follow along on Instagram stories, you already got a sneak peak–and you guys also gave me some awesome suggestions for other green detox face masks!
Read below for my three favorites, and some GG reader favorites, too!
Favorite Green Detox Masks:
I’ve most recently started using these Chloro Plasma mask from Perricone MD. (Note: This is a sample size that you see in the photos! It’s not actually that small, haha! However, I’ve plowed through this sample and have the full size in my Sephora cart as we speak!)
It helps revitalize dull skin, enlarged pores, fine lines, and improves texture. It has fancy “microcapsules” infused with phytonutrients, which burst as you rum the mask into your skin, and release chlorophyll and blue green algae to detoxify and purify! $80
I love this product because it’s a two-in-one mask AND cleanser. It’s chock full of green superfoods like green tea and spinach! It comes out like a creamy cleanser and gets foamier as you rub it into your skin. It draws out dirt, pollutants and makeup from your pores. I also like that it doesn’t make your skin feel super tight and dried out like a lot of mask/cleanser combos. $36
This is the first detoxifying mask I ever used, and it’s still in my rotation today! I love every product that I’ve ever tried from Glossier, and this mask is one of the best! It contains leafy greans and superfruits plus white kaolin clay to cleans and detoxify while calming inflammation. $22
Reader Favorite: Rachel loves CocoKind’s products because they’re organic with minimal ingredients, and super affordable! The brand is made in San Francisco and their chlorophyl mask is rumored to be prettttyy tough to beat! $18
Reader Favorite: Lush Love Lettuce Mask. Morgan (you can follow along on her health-focused instagram here!) recommends this mask which has scrubby exfoliating factors, too! It combines seaweed, french lavender, and honey to both detox and soothe. Who knew Lush had great skincare products!? The price is pretty sweet, too! $8.95
Reader Favorite: Reader Lindsey loves Caudalie’s Instant Detoxifying Mask (a cult classic!) which draws out toxins from clogged pores to revitalize and invigorate your complexion. I love pretty much every Caudalie product I’ve ever tried, so I’m excited to give this a try! $39
