DOUBLE blog posts today! Well, I actually just shifted my schedule around to get this post up this afternoon because I had no idea J.Crew was going to launch such a big 40-50% off sale (thanks to Kelly for the tip-off, haha!) and that some of my favorite fall/winter staples would be HUNDREDS of dollars off! I didn’t want to make you wait until tomorrow in case things started selling out quickly! 😉So…consider this tomororrow’s blog post–early!
And funny enough, I just realized that a HUGE portion of my fall/winter wardrobe is from J.Crew–but hardly any of my summer wardrobe is? 😂Anyone else? I feel like I love their summer items, but their fall/winter clothing is REALLY where they shine in terms of style AND functionality.
Alas, JCREW SEASON is now upon us! They make some of my favorite coats and layering essentials of all time (many of which I’ve owned for years!) So–in case you’ve been waiting for a chance to scoop up some seasonal wardrobe staples at a discount (or even been waiting for some to come back in stock), now is your chance! I also did the rough math for you on each item so you could tell how much you’d save by shopping the sale!
Ready, set, let’s go! (Make sure to enter code GOBIG at checkout for the discount to apply!)
My Top 7 J.Crew Sale Picks for Fall/Winter:
Tissue Turtlenecks: on sale for $21! ($15 off!)
If I had to choose ONE staple that rules my wardrobe for fall/winter, it would be the J.Crew tissue turtleneck. They are the best layering essentials–truly–and look cute on their own or layered under your favorite chunky sweater. I own them in so many colors and I wear one probably 3-4x per week in the colder months.
Sizing: It depends on how you want them to fit. If you want them tight, order your regular size (I have them in both XS and S). If you want them still form-fitting but a bit looser, order a size up.
Vintage Straight Jeans: on sale for $53! (Over $35 off!)
I love these jeans because they’re super stretchy and soft, and the shape is the perfect in-between shape (much like my other favorites–the Everlane Cheeky straight jeans!) They’re straight leg crop, but the leg is still very slim, so if a true straight leg or wide leg feel too trendy for you but you want to break out of the skinny jean rut, I think this is a great jean to try! I love the raw hem and the length is perfect for styling with ankle booties. I’d say these are a higher mid-rise jean–so again, not too hight cut, but not too low either!
Sizing: TTS–Wearing a size 25! Order your regular size–while they’re stretchy, they don’t stretch out!
Cocoon Coat $219 ($146 off!!)
Probably the warmest non-puffer coat money can buy you–not to mention, it’s just an adorable coat! These go VERY fast every year–seriously, I know so many people wait to buy coats during Black Friday, but this coat (especially in this color) goes so fast that I wouldn’t risk waiting. It will likely be 50% off during Black Friday, but there’s a high likelihood that you won’t grab your size in time before it sells out–and honestly, the difference in price right now with the 40% off vs the likely 50% off it’ll be during Black Friday is only $37–so think of that as an extra $37 you can pay in assurance that you’ll actually be able to snag your favorite size and color AND get to wear it a lot longer vs having to wait until almost December to wear it! 😜
Sizing: This coat runs big! I have a 0 and it’s great for wearing bulky layers under, but I may have even gone down another size. (I like my coats more form-fitting.)
Italian Double Cloth Thinsulate Lady Day Coat: $238 (Save $160!)
Everything I said about the above coat also applies to the Lady Day coat! It’s VERY warm for how thin it is–it’s definitely a more refined coat than the Cocoon coat. I love both coats and since obviously, they’re such different styles, I wear them for different things! This coat is more polished, so I like to wear it whenever I want to look extra nice–whether that’s to dinner, a party, a meeting, etc!
Sizing: I wear a size 2 in this coat and it fits perfectly. I don’t usually wear a lot of layers under this coat though so if you need it to accommodate a ton of chunky layers you may want to go up a size.
Sophie Blazer $88 (Save $59!)
One of my top selling items during fall/winter last year for good reason–it is an AMAZING wardrobe staple. It’s perfect for work or weekend–it’s part cardigan, part blazer. I love it in the camel color (can you tell camel is my favorite fall/winter color?) but it comes in lot’s of other colors as well!
Sizing: I’d say it might be SLIGHTLY oversized–if you’re between sizes you may want to go down–but buy what you’d usually wear in a cardigan, not a blazer. (I went with an XS.)
Roll Neck Sweater: on sale for $53! (Over $35 off!)
This was one of my favorite sweaters last year so I’m SO GLAD they brought it back so you guys can take advantage! The roll neck is such a classic, casual style and I really love the one I have in mustard, but they come in lot’s of other colors too!
Sizing: TTS! I’m wearing a small.
Daphne Topcoat: on sale for $136! ($91 in savings!)
Last but not least, the Daphne Topcoat–which is a BEAUTIFUL jacket and a perfect weight for fall/spring. It’s definitely not as warm/heavy as the other two coats (which I’d classify as winter coats) I highlighted above, but it’s a great mid-weight. The color I have is a mustard-camel color (it looks more camel in the photos than it does in real life!) I love the two double-breasted button closure and the textured wool–it’s just a very smart looking coat!
Sizing: Runs TTS. I ordered a 4 because it’s not as heavy as my other coats so I wanted it to be able to accommodate more layers!
