Happy Monday! Did you have a good weekend? Mine was pretty (amazingly) uneventful, slow, and lazy–my favorite kind!
I’m also really looking forward to this coming weekend, because I’m headed to Austin for my best friend Courtney’s bachelorette party! I’m pretty excited for food trucks, exploring the city, and most exciting of all–we’re renting a boat on Saturday! If you have any recommendations on what to do while we’re there, I’d love to hear them!
Now, on to today’s post! I’m sharing my favorite natural makeup routine that can have you out the door in five minutes. As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of Clinique products. I grew up with my mother using them, it was the first brand of makeup I ever wore, and it’s still at the top of my list. It’s one of the few foundation brands that doesn’t cause breakouts for my sensitive skin–so if you struggle with the same, you’ll definitely want to check out their Chubby Stick line, especially my new favorite–Chubby in the Nude foundation.
I’ve been playing around with these products in particular for the past few weeks, and I have to say, I’m hooked. I met my college girlfriends for dinner earlier last week (I haven’t seen them in awhile!) and so many of them stopped me to ask what makeup I was wearing and what I was doing with my skin–they’ve never seen it look so dewy and glowing!
(So, if my opinion wasn’t proof enough–there you have it.)
Another thing I love about these products is it’s so easy to travel with. Literally–they’re just sticks! No bulky foundation bottles, or huge bronzer and blush compacts. They all fit in one small makeup bag, and they can come everywhere with me. Genius.
So, ready to walk through it step by step? Here’s my five minute “no makeup” makeup routine that is virtually impossible to mess up!
Step One: Build your base

Start with clean, moisturized skin, and apply the Clinique Chubby in the Nude Foundation Stick (the shade I wear is 07–Capricious Chamois). I love this formula especially because it has full, buildable coverage, and is really moisturizing. I typically don’t even need concealer with this foundation–it does a great job of concealing blemishes and dark spots alike, plus it leaves you with a dewy finish. (Something I’ve always struggled to achieve with other foundations.)
Just swipe the foundation stick wherever you’d like coverage. I tend to have uneven skin, so I swirl on a full layer of loop-ti-loos across my face. (Might as well have fun with it, right? You’ll blend it right after anyway!)
When you’re done doodling on your coverage, blend with your fingers, or if you’d like, you can use a beauty blender sponge. Once blended, apply the Chubby Sculpting Highlighter wherever the light would naturally hit your face–above your cheekbones, as well as down the front of your nose. This gives you a natural glowing finish.
Step Two: Add cheek color + contour

Now for bronzer and blush! Getting the whole “highlight and contour” thing down can be tricky, but that’s what I love about these sticks–they’re really hard to mess up! Take the Chubby Sculpting Contour stick and swipe underneath your cheekbones, on both sides of your nose, at the sides of your forehead, and underneath your chin on both sides.
Have fun with it–I like to doodle on what I call a “tribal paint” design–it looks funny now, but I promise it looks amazing when it’s blended!
(After applying your “tribal paint” this is an ideal opportunity to jump out of the bathroom and scare your boyfriend!)
Hehe.
Once you’re done doodling on your contouring color, make sure to blend well. (Obviously.)
Note: It’s important to blend in the same areas that you drew your lines–make sure that you don’t smear them all over your face. You want to emphasize your current bone structure, not look like you painted your face all one color.
Once you’ve blended well with your fingers, it’s time for blush! I used Clinique Chubby Cheek Color Balm in Robust Rhubarb to apply color to my cheeks. How you apply it is up to you–swirl it on the apples of your cheeks, or sweep it on in more of a line up toward your hair line. If you just focus on the apples of your cheeks, you’ll make your face look more round, so if you want to achieve that “sculpted” look, make sure to blend it up toward your hairline and all along your cheekbones.
(Again, don’t freak out though. There’s really no wrong way to do it!)
Step Three: The finishing touches
[easy-image-collage id=6618]
Now that your face makeup is all done (that was quick, right?) it’s time for the finishing touches! I always curl my eyelashes (because I have basically NONE) but if you’ve got gorgeous full lashes already, feel free to skip this step. Then, apply your favorite eyeliner and mascara. I like to keep my eyes simple and as natural looking as possible. (Not to mention, who has time to apply eyeshadow when you’re running late in the morning?)
I finish off my look with a natural looking balm–here I’m wearing the Chubby Stick moisturizing lip color balm in Mighty Mimosa–it’s a sheer, pink hue that gives off a fresh, “just bitten” color. I also love the Two Ton Tomato shade–it’s a sheer, yet bright, punchy red.
That’s it–You’re out the door!

Have you tried out these products yet? What did you think? What does your “5 minute makeup” routine look like?
This post is sponsored by Clinique, a brand I have used my entire life. All opinions are 100% my own.
I LOVE the Clinique Chubby Cheek Color Balm!! I use it every day… It’s the best because it doesn’t explode in my purse, and it’s super easy to apply on the run. Loved this post, Jess! Chubby Sticks for the win!

OMG! I didn’t know that Chubby sticks came in so variations. I only knew about the lip ones. Thanks for sharing! This looks super easy!
Have you ever tried Clinique’s Even Better makeup? That’s the foundation I currently use. I’m totally up for trying the chubby stick version though!
Also, do you typically blend with your fingers? Or do you use a special sponge/brush? I find that using fingers gives a better blended look.
PS – Macy’s has a Clinique bonus going on right now!
I’m a HUGE fan of the contour stick – I use it daily! It seriously couldn’t be easier.
