Happy last day of April! 👏🏼Not sure how that happened so fast, but I’m not complaining about time flying these days. 😂
I haven’t done a capsule-style outfit post in a MINUTE! It feels good to be back! How have you been feeling about getting dressed lately? Starting to settle into a new normal? It helps me immensely to get dressed every day. Whether that’s at 7am or 4pm. (I recommend doing it in the morning to really start your day off on the right foot, but, you know. Things happen. 😂) My outfit inspo lately has been all about striking the right balance between “real clothes” and “comfort.”
Today, I’m excited to be partnering with my #1 source for classic, comfortable staples–Everlane–sharing some of my favorite WFH essentials (many old, and a few new additions) that hit that balance perfectly!
First up, let’s dive into each item. Then, I’ll show you how I styled them!

13 Favorite Work From Home Outfits & Essentials
T-Shirt Midi Dress: I actually have had this dress for a couple years now, but I’m so glad they released a new version of it because it is the BEST work from home dress! The difference is that the cut on the straps is a little bit wider, and the new version has a pocket! I brought it with me to Italy and wore it a ton–it looks cute dressed up or down, and with sneakers, too! Runs TTS! I have a size 0.
Chunky Cardigan: You know the sweater you always have on the back of your chair at work? That’s what this sweater is for me. (In…my kitchen. 😂) The exact version I’m wearing with the buttons is sold out, but this version is fully stocked and has 5 star reviews!
I’ve had the older pair of these sandals for years, but the latest iteration comes with a square toe, which I ADORE. So comfortable–the most amazing “house sandals”–the leather is so buttery, no break in ever needed! They run TTS.
I’ve been wearing this button-down a lot. It’s so comfortable, super lightweight, but is, you know, presentable enough for your heavy Zoom meeting days. 😜I will definitely be wearing it with jean shorts (it will be great over a bathing suit for summer!) but it’ll be a great summer office staple as well, when, you know, life goes back to normal. It comes in both regular and oversized–I have the oversized version, which, obviously runs oversized. I went with a size 0, so I’d order your regular size or a size down based on how you want it to fit.
White Pocket Tee: (You can get 3 for $45 right now!)
This tee is part of their all-new organic cotton line, but it’s the same cut of their classic box-cut tee that I love! I have them in several colors. Runs TTS, I have a size small.
I feel like I’m a broken record over here. 😂Yet ANOTHER item that I’ve had for a while, and is an especially amazing travel staple (I wore these a ton in both Italy and Spain!) but for the same reasons (super comfy, breathable, but look polished!) they are a wonderful work from home staple! I have a size 0, runs TTS!
I am IN. LOVE. With this jumpsuit. Everlane always does such an incredible job with their jumpsuits. Like their others, this one has perfectly engineered straps that are positioned perfectly and wide enough so they cover your bra straps. The back of the jumpsuit is stretchy, to make for easy on and off, and the belt is totally optional! I have a size 0, runs TTS!
AH! A newcomer!! As soon as I saw this airy top in this cheery color I knew it must be mine to infuse some sunshine into my quarantine life. I’m so glad I made the decision. Is it just me, or have you been drawn to bright colors a lot more than usual lately? This is loose and flowy. I have a size 2, but I probably could’ve gone with a 0 as well!
MULES. A quarantined gal’s best friend! Easy on, easy off, feel like slippers, but are real shoes. You feel put together, but don’t sacrifice the comfort. These run small, so go up a half size!
The only jeans I am now wearing during quarantine. (Let’s be honest, they were one of the few jeans I wear everyday before quarantine, too!) They’ve been my #1 bestseller for over a year, and I’ve never received anything but RAVE reviews from you guys!
I know some people think it’s crazy to “quarantine in jeans” but if I don’t put on real clothes, I go crazy. These are the intersection of “real clothes” and “real comfort.”
I had a DM the other day saying, “I think my problem is that I only own tight skinny jeans! I gotta get some of those loose straight jeans!” She’s right–if you don’t have a pair of these, you are missing out!
I have my normal size and they are the perfect amount of roomy! (Size 25!) There’s a whole review of them over here.
Everlane’s crops are kind of the only other type of “real pant” I’m wearing right now. I especially love the color of this pair (“sandstone”) because they’re not really a white pant, but they’re light enough to feel springy without being white. However, magically, they don’t feel too springy in the winter!? I wear them all year round and they are some of my favorite pants, that also just happen to be comfy enough for working from home! I would say they have more give than denim does!
Throw these on for your nightly happy hour walk around the neighborhood. 😂One of my favorite pairs of sneakers. If you’re looking for a classic white leather pair, I can’t recommend them enough! Whole review on them right over here.
9 Ways to Style Them
9 Ways to Style Them
Chunky Cardigan (similar, mine is currently sold out), T-Shirt Midi Dress, Crisscross Leather Sandals
I was so glad when I saw Everlane brought back a new iteration of this dress, that I’ve had for a couple years now! It’s the softest material and great for layering. It’s super lightweight, so you’ll live in it during the summer as well. Also, my mom friends tell me it’s the best length for sitting on the floor or chasing after your littles! Here I’ve just paired it with super comfy sandals (really, they are butter!) and a chunky cardigan.
Silky Cotton Button Down, T-Shirt Midi Dress, Crisscross Leather Sandals
For a different twist on the same dress, if I want another layer but I want to get a little bit more creative (or if I have a zoom meeting I want to look more presentable for 😂) I will throw on this button down and tie it over the top. I have been wearing this shirt a ton lately–it’s so light and comfortable, and truly a wardrobe staple you’re going to want to live in, quarantine or not! (Also, a hair scarf is always a must to disguise your very unwashed hair over Zoom.)
Chunky Cardigan (similar, mine is currently sold out), White Pocket Tee, Pull-On Chino Shorts, Comfy Mules
When the weather starts warming up, these are some of the first shorts I reach for! (Or maybe it’s already hot where you are! In that case, I’m jealous!) I’m glad Everlane always has them in stock, because they’ve been a warm-weather staple of mine going on three summers now! They’re loose-fitting, breezy, with an elastic waistband, so they’re VERY work-from-home friendly! Pair them with a soft, classic white pocket tee and my favorite white loafer mules, which are amazing house shoes!
Linen Puff Sleeve Top, Pull-On Chino Shorts, Ballet Flats
Enter the happy yellow linen top–one of my absolute favorite new wardrobe additions during quarantine! I fell in love with the bright, cheery color and the breezy, almost vintage-inspired cut. It reminds me of California (or rather, the FEELING you get when you’re in California) and that always makes me so happy each time I pull it on. I’ve probably worn it 5 times in the past two weeks! Can’t wait to actually dress it up with some *gasp* wedges and REALLY take it for a spin on a patio once this is all behind us!
Linen Puff Sleeve Top, Cheeky Straight Jeans, Comfy Mules
The way I’ve been wearing it most often is just with my Cheeky straight jeans. They’re the only jeans that are still comfortable these days. 🤣I also love the combo of the bright marigold color with the white shoes! So crispy and summery!
ReNew Fleece Sweatshirt, Cheeky Straight Jeans, Comfy Mules
You’ve seen me wear this sweatshirt quite a bit on the blog, but I had to include it here because it’s been such a quarantine staple. It’s the next best thing to wearing the sweatshirt you slept in. 😜I love the nubby texture, the deep navy color, and how fresh it looks with the white mules! A great “lived in preppy” combo!
Linen Jumpsuit, Crisscross Leather Sandals
Not that I play favorites, but if I DID…I would pick this jumpsuit out of the whole bunch. 🤣It’s truly THE BEST. I know I already gushed over it in the above section, but it really is such a great jumpsuit! It’s so soft and loose and comfortable while still being chic. It comes in other colors too, if this yellow isn’t your jam. (Although it’s basically like putting on a piece of sunshine, so I’d highly recommend it!)
Also worth noting, if you’re worried about wrinkles: This photo was taken after many wears (and I didn’t steam it beforehand), so you definitely won’t need to iron it or anything before you wear it! It’s that perfect “lived in” look without being over the top wrinkled like some linen can get!
Denim Jacket, Air Tank, Straight Leg Crops, Crisscross Leather Sandals
I present to you… a great “happy hour walk to get some fresh air” so mix up your G + T in your Yeti cup and pull on this outfit to stroll around the neighborhood. Comfortable enough to wear all day (with a sweater, if you like) then throw on a jean jacket for a nightly stroll!
ReNew Fleece Sweatshirt, Straight Leg Crops, Court Sneakers
What I am wearing as I write this post. A combination that has yet to fail me. Same nubby sweatshirt, but with my favorite straight-leg crops, and sneakers that make the perfect walking shoes. (Speaking of neighborhood walks!)
Huge thanks to Everlane for partnering with me on this post, and to you for supporting the brands who keep this blog up and running (especially during these uncertain times!) Of course, as always, all opinions are my own! xo
