The perfect tee: Madewell (less than $20! Comes in pretty much every color!) // Jean shorts: old but nearly identical here, here, (both high-rise–great prices!) and here (mid-rise) // Bag: c/o Madewell (also comes in black and dark brown) // Shoes: c/o Cecelia New York (order a 1/2 size up–they run a bit small!) there are also lot’s of great lace-up sandals on sale here!
I know a few months back, I referenced the closet purge I did when it came time to switch out my winter clothes for warmer items. I realized that I had just moved on from about 80% of my closet.
After reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up and Spark Joy, I basically decided to attack my closet Kon-Mari style.
While I can’t claim to be totally “cured from messiness,” I can definitely vouch for the fact that it’s become much easier and more enjoyable to get dressed when there are only a few items to choose from.
That being said, it also made the “holes” in my closet more apparent. One of them I realized quickly, is that I didn’t really own any basic t-shirts. I had always loved the look of a white tee and jean shorts, but I weirdly didn’t own one white t-shirt.
So, when I popped into Madewell a couple weeks back and saw they had a perfect white v-neck on sale, I decided it was time.
(I have to confess…I’ve worn this combination about 15 times since then.)
Do you have a favorite tee? If not, you definitely need to try this one. I think I need it in every color.
Another new obsession–these sandals! You know that feeling you get when you open a box of new shoes for the first time and you’re like “AHHH I can’t wait to wear you!” but then reality creeps in and you’re like “ughhhh I don’t want to break you in and have blisters everywhereeee”
Yeah, that won’t happen with these. Seriously, comfiest sandals I’ve ever owned. And they’re gold. And they lace-up. (You can see this in the photos, clearly, I’m just reiterating the cause for obsession.)
Last week, Blair came over to my new place for the first time (we typically have at least one work date per week) to work on some Blogging For Keeps projects and knock out a couple photo shoots. We walked around the neighborhood, and the insane heat and humidity lead us to stop into one of my favorite places–Antique Taco!
A refreshing glass of Agua Fresca was calling our nammeeee. (Do you know what Agua Fresca is? Because you should. It’s essentially a Mexican fruit juice-infused water and it’s about the best thing you’ll ever taste.)
Have you been to Antique Taco? If not, you must order the sweet & spicy chicken tacos and the enchiladas. Oh man. I think I might need to go again for dinner tonight.
