A couple months back, I was hit with a targeted Instagram ad for “eco-friendly reusable paper towel replacements that can replace 17 rolls of paper towels each!” –plus, they were REALLY cute! (You know I’m a sucker for great product design). They’re rigid little sheets when dried, and become a dishcloth-like square of material when wet. I was intrigued.
Naturally, I screenshotted it, and posted it to my stories, saying–”what is this, and has anyone ever used these?!”
Turns out (as often happens, you know everything!) many of you were like, “JESS, YOU SILLY GOOSE! THESE ARE JUST FANCY SWEDISH DISH TOWELS!”
A Fun Eco Swap: Swedish Dish Towels!
A Swedish Dish Towel!? Not sure what that is–but rarely does anything with Scandinavian roots steer me wrong in form or function, so I did more research, and ordered this three-pack from an eco-friendly store on Amazon–it includes one lemon print, one tomato print, and one herb print. They come in all kinds of fun patterns and colors though!

Those of you who weren’t in on the Swedish Dish Towel trend asked if I’d report back my findings…so here we are!
I was so excited when they arrived, I ripped open the package and immediately wiped down the counters. (First time I’ve had that strong of an urge to clean anything. 😜) COOL!
I will say they don’t replace a paper towel to say, dry your hands, but they are super absorbent and a great swap for cleaning up spills and wiping down surfaces. I also love that they dry flat so they’re really easy to stack upright and store underneath the sink vs. loose rags.
How to clean: You want to clean them frequently! I always toss mine in the dishwasher whenever I do a load of dishes, or you can wash them in the washing machine, or if you prefer, just microwave them in a bowl of sudsy water for a few seconds for a quick sanitize!
All in all, they get a big thumbs up from me–adorable, functional, save you money AND the environment, too! Hope these help make your cleaning a little more joyful!
