Wrap Dress: c/o Everlane–comes in several colors and also a shorter length as well as in a slip-dress! I would size down. I’m wearing a 0 and probably could’ve gone with a 00 (I just have a small ribcage–I don’t wear a 00 in anything other than some dresses ?). Sandals: Steven by Steve Madden–these are actually Shaheen’s that I borrowed–I own them in brown! (TTS) Everlane also makes a similar pair that I have in black and absolutely love (also TTS) I have beat them to HELL and they have held up amazingly–they’re great pool slides! Purse: vintage, I just bought it for $30 at Randolph Street Market! Sunnies: c/o American Eagle (can you believe it?! ?) Hoops: c/o Vo Jewelry and similar here at Baublebar.
Happy Friday and more importantly, JUNE!
Seriously, where does the time go?
I honestly am so disoriented because of the short week I can’t really wrap my mind around the fact that it’s the weekend again–this is a good and a bad thing ? Truthfully, I could really use another day to get everything checked off my to-do list, but who can complain about Saturday coming too early!?
I’ve managed to somehow pull off more home improvement projects this week than I have completed since moving into this house three summers ago, haha! I finally bit the bullet and just HIRED a handyman to come do all the things that Neal and I have been meaning to get around to for like, um, 3 years–and it was the best decision ever. Sometimes you just need to get over the issue of paying for something you can do yourself and just DO IT. It frees up so much of your time and the payoff of actually getting it done is soooo good. Anyway, I found the best handyman so if you need his contact info, just message me on Instagram!
I’ll definitely be sharing some photos soon–don’t you worry!
Anyway–today we aren’t talking about home improvement, today we’re talking about the most wonderful wrap dress that I think EVERY woman should have in her closet! (Don’t worry, if you aren’t into red, it comes in black and a couple other colors, too! ?)
It’s made by–who else? Everlane! One of my favorite brands for years. This wrap dress is made of the same “Japanese Go Weave” fabric that many of their other staples are made out of–I actually own their tank dress in the same material–you can see it in this post!
The fabric is wrinkle-resistant and it’s the perfect weight–it’s not too thin (because see through dresses are the worst) but not too thick, so it’s still cool! It’s going to be a must-bring on our Italy trip and I think I’m going to have to get it in black as well! I love that it’s a midi length, which makes it especially great for walking around any city because you don’t have to worry about your skirt blowing up–haha!
I’ve worn it so much already since the temperatures have gone straight from arctic to SCORCHING ? (oh Chicago, you can never give us a spring, can you?) When I was out and about with Shaheen this past weekend, I borrowed her white pair of Grecian flats (I own them in brown!) and they are seriously one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I’ve ever owned right out of the box.
Everlane also makes a similar pair called their “Bridge sandals” and I’d say theirs do take some breaking in (they weren’t comfy out of the gate), BUT they are now insanely comfy–they were pretty much the only pair of shoes I wore on our honeymoon. Their pair has kind of a shiny coating on the outside and it’s definitely a thicker, tough leather, so honestly, both are great pairs, it just depends on what you’re looking for! I’ve beaten them up pretty badly over the past year, haha–accidentally left them outside in a rain storm, Otto got ahold of one of them and chewed part of it, I’ve dropped them in the pool–and they’ve held up magically ? (On that note, don’t you want to lend me your shoes?! I’ll take SUCH good care of them, clearly.)
Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!
