Coat: Barbour Beadnell (available at both Nordstrom and Tuckernuck) Comes in deeper green color, navy, and black, too! I also love the quilted version (I want it so badly in navy! Kelly has it and it’s her favorite ever jacket–I think she’s convinced me that I need one ;-)) // Striped turtleneck: J.Crew, identical here (also love this reversed-out version) and this mock-neck version! // Scarf: old, but a perfect replica here, and I also love this pumpkin-colored one that is so festive, this one and this one! // Boots: c/o Sole Society (they also come in a pretty chestnut color)–available here and also at Nordstrom. // Jeans: Levi’s 711 jeans
Well guys, not sure if you’ve been experiencing the same this week, but FALL HAS ARRIVED.
It’s cold, rainy, and hibernation mode has kicked in quite a few times this week. Luckily the forecast is supposed to take a warmer, sunnier turn over the next few days–so I can resume wearing this classic fall outfit of mine on repeat.
Much to my fiancé’s (and your own significant others’) dismay–ITS TURTLENECK SEASON AGAIN!
Super soft, thin turtlenecks are my very favorite things to wear. They might top the list as favorite wardrobe items. Neal, however, disagrees, referring to them as my “granny shirts.” (Which I do not take offense to, as my Granny was one of the coolest women to ever walk the earth and she also loved her turtlenecks. I suppose the turtleneck loving quality runs in the family.)
Another fall wardrobe combo that will never go out of style: stripes and plaids. I don’t know what it is about them, but they’re like the peanut butter and jelly of my closet. When mixing any patterns, the general rule I follow is one small pattern + one larger pattern, so busy, thin stripes paired with a bold plaid works perfectly.
My new favorite memory associated with this scarf is when we were up at the lake house recently, and Neal’s dad joked, “Jess, are you cold? I couldn’t help but notice the blanket you have wrapped around your throat.”
I then proceeded to educate him on the concept of “blanket scarves”–he thought I was kidding. *Mind blown* (Noted on what to get him for Christmas.) Baha! Love him.
Okay moving on–I couldn’t get through this post without talking about my favorite jacket in the whole world, could I? If you don’t yet own a Barbour Beadnell jacket, you’re truly missing out. It’s not too heavy, but very, very warm. I’m such a sucker for wardrobe classics (me? really?) and this is about as classic as they come. A Barbour coat will never go out of style, and it’s equally as practical as it is cute. It’s become my uniform paired with these jeans. (Are you getting sick of them yet? I can’t stop wearing them. I’ve tried.)
Last but not least, the shoes! These pretties from Sole Society are the coolest color. Sometimes they’re reddish, sometimes they’re brownish, I don’t really care what color they are, because they add the perfect amount of spice to any outfit. I also wore them paired with this dress (majorly on sale!) for our engagement party last weekend–so cute!
What’s your one foolproof “fall outfit”?
