A Bright & Sunny Maxi

Dress: JOA from Revolve–runs TTS. Other cute yellow versions: this one (comes in several colors!) and this one! Also, the back of this flowy blush maxi is to DIE for, and how pretty is this navy one? // Shoes: Old, but similar here, here and obsessed with these tassel lace-ups // Sunnies: Krewe du Optic via Tuckernuck (also love these!) // Bag: Madwell Marfa Bag (the brown is also available at Nordstrom. This suede one is also similar too!) // Earrings: BaubleBar (come in so many colors!) // Lips: Burberry lipstick in Bright Plum

Thursday!?

How is it already Thursday!?

Neal has been gone all week on a business trip so I’m so excited that he’s coming home today! I got back to Chicago from Dallas on Sunday and he had to leave on Monday morning at like, 6am (the worst!) so we haven’t really gotten to spend a lot of (or any?) time together over the past week, and I’ve been excitedly awaiting today’s arrival ever since!

This week has been all about getting back into the swing of things–diving back into work mode full force, but also trying to strike the right work-life balance since it FINALLY feels like summer could be on the horizon?

I’ve also been working on knocking out some wedding to-do’s–most importantly, working out the details on our invitations on Minted! I think we finally decided on a design so I’m excited to share it with you guys! I’m slowly figuring out that the reason planning a wedding is so hard is because there are way too many choices. I texted Neal last night overwhelmed about the ratio of vintage glassware to modern wine glasses. (Like, seriously? WHO CARES?! Get a grip, Jessica!)

It’s just really easy to get caught up in silly stuff, you know? Sometimes you just need to take a time out and remind yourself that at any given wedding, the only factors anyone ACTUALLY cares about are an open bar, the music, and most importantly, the bride and groom having a good time. Do you recall any wedding in recent history where you’ve cared about anything else? Me either. That’s what I have to keep reminding myself.

Anyway, I wore this yellow maxi dress on the second day of our conference in Dallas. This was actually [sadly] the ONLY look we shot in Dallas due to crazy weather! It actually felt colder there than it did in Chicago! This dress was a great choice though–feminine and super comfy–my two favorite qualities in a dress! These earrings borrowed from Blair were also the perfect accessory to pair with it!

Also, is it just me, or is yellow making a comeback? I don’t know about you, but I never owned anything yellow before this year. Whatever it is, I’m glad that it’s back in 😉

Okay–I’m off to make my house NOT look like a tornado hit it before my fiancé gets home. Wish me luck 😛

I totally understand what you are talking about with wedding planning. We just started really diving into wedding planning and it is wayyyyyy to many choice! I think I’m the most anti-bride out there! I’ve been trying to convince my fiance that we should just go to the courthouse! So many choices!
