Coat: Barbour Quilted Beadnell c/o Tuckernuck (the olive version is on sale right now at Nordstrom!) You can also see the navy Barbour beadnell styled here! // Sweater: Topshop at Nordstrom (also love this similar grey version) // Jeans: Levi’s 711 skinny jeans (they’re on sale for $39!) I also have been wanting this similar pair forever! // Shoes: Jack Purcell (I was between these and this pair, but went for the classic all-white!) // Bag: Madewell Transport Tote (my favorite go-to tote bag, they have about every color and material under the sun!) Available on Nordstrom and Shopbop but you can get it monogrammed from Madewell // Lipstick: My #1 go-to shade–MAC Lady Danger (I also recommend their lip scrub, which is SO good for winter, and their lip primer!) // Hair: Curled with a Beachwaver curling iron, Oribe Texture Spray // Nail polish: Essie’s no-chip gel polish–it actually stays really well compared to normal polish! I did a little review of it here.
So, I spent about an hour yesterday thinking that it was Thursday and that today was going to be Friday.
So, as sad as I am that it ISN’T Friday, I’m still happy that it’s Thursday, because Neal is getting home from his business trip today (yay!) and we’re going to dinner at Giant. It’s one of the biggest “it” restaurants right now in Logan Square–which is kind of a big deal for us because our “go to trendy dinners all the time” days are few and far between now that we’re officially old and everything.
We also have a super fun weekend coming up–we’re doing a little staycation on Friday night/Saturday morning at the Gray hotel! Have you heard of it? It’s one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever seen! If I could design and decorate a hotel, I’m pretty sure it would look exactly like this. We’ll be grabbing cocktails at this swanky spot, and they have a gorgeous rooftop bar called Boleo (yes, it’s open in the winter, too!) that we’ll be eating dinner at. (Wouldn’t it be such a beautiful spot for a wedding?) We’re also getting massages, so you could pretty much say I’m counting down the seconds!
Otherwise, the work week so far has been busy but uneventful–I’m admittedly feeling a little scrambly (is that a word?) as I have some exciting travel plan/projects coming up that I’m racing to get all the details together for–more on that later, can’t wait to share with you! Buttt the scrambly “too much to do” feeling isn’t anything a few cups of coffee can’t tackle, right?!
Anyway, I’ve been living in basics like these lately–especially given the sudden warm weather surge we experienced earlier this week! (Remember when I squealed about wearing my Barbour jacket and sneakers earlier this week? GASP–exposed ankles in February!?)
This is one of my all-time favorite casual outfits, and is a combination that will never steer you wrong! A classic sweater (I love the oatmeal color of this one!), ripped jeans, classic white sneakers, and a quilted jacket are always in style and suitable for so many occasions. (By the way, my Barbour quilted Beadnell and lot’s of other Barbour is on MAJOR sale in the olive color right here!)

Anndddd speaking of casual outfits, I will likely be throwing several variations of this one into my suitcase for my upcoming trips! (I always wear something similar on the plane, too! For long flights, just swap jeans for comfy leggings!)
Ok. Back to my scrambyness. (Scrambliness?) errr I mean to-do list.
Have a happy Thursday!
