Longline sweater: (One of my favorite transitional layers for fall! It’s actually a dress too and can be worn several ways!) c/o Lolë–this color is the prettiest oatmeal-blush hue, but it also comes in light grey as well as charcoal. I love the pockets, too! Runs TTS, but oversized, so if you want a tighter fit, size down. Tank: old, but Everlane makes a really similar one that is lovely, and I also love this ballet slipper pink button-front one from Madewell Jeans: Lolë skinny yoga jeans (c/o)–they are SO comfy. They’re insanely stretchy and you can actually do yoga in them. Come in a lighter wash, too. Belt: Topshop via Nordstrom–sold out–wah! Shoes: Loeffler Randall ‘Luz’ heels. Bag: Cult Gaia
YIKES, where did the week go!?
This week in Chicago the weather is a little crazy–during the day, the temps are in the high eighties! Haha, the leaves are starting to turn and it’s starting to LOOK like fall, but it’s definitely not FEELING like it! At least not until the evening, and then it starts getting downright chilly 😉 I guess the moral of my story is that layers are my best friend this time of year.
One of my new favorite transitional layers for fall comes from Lolë–one of my favorite activewear/athleisure brands. If you remember, I went on the coolest trip with them to Montreal to experience their famous Lolë White Tour! Admittedly, until the trip, I had no idea that the brand also made great versatile, everyday basics in addition to athletic wear, but some of their items have definitely become my new go-to’s–especially this, erhm, sweater vesty-dress-thingy? On their website, it’s referred to as a dress, but I think this is misleading because it’s really SO much more than that! You can also see how my friend Kate styled it below as a cute tunic over jeans! (Really, it’s a traveling girls best staple–you can wear it so many different ways!) Kate and I met for the first time on our trip, but became instant BFF’s! Miss you Kate! Now that my wedding is over can’t wait to plan a reunion trip 😛
I wore this outfit on our last night in Montreal, where we had a party with the whole Lolë team! It was actually supposed to be on the roof of the Hotel William Gray, where we were staying, but there was a storm that forced us to move downstairs. Luckily, the rain cleared eventually, and we were able to sneak up here at dusk to snap some photos! (At which point I did not want to put down my rosé–I thought it made for better pictures anyway, right?) Also shout out to my friend Nina who played my impromptu photographer!
Anyway, instead of wearing this piece as a dress, I tied the tie in the back and thew it over my favorite slinky tank! (If you don’t own a slip cami tank, I can’t say enough good things. They are so versatile and I wear them weekly no matter what the season! Mine is old, but Everlane makes a great one too!)
Additionally, I gave Lolë’s super stretchy skinny jeans a test drive! They are super duper comfy, and made to be so flexible that you can actually DO YOGA in them. Isn’t that crazy? They’re very flattering too. Remember in Friends when Joey needed maternity pants for Thanksgiving? It’s because he wasn’t wearing these! 😛
Side note–the Friends reference made me think of Will and Grace. How excited are you about the return of Will and Grace? Don’t you wish they would make a Friends reunion, though!? ALSO–Roseanne reunion. OMG. I’m so excited for that. Fun fact: Roseanne was my favorite show when I was little. Okay maybe it’s still my favorite show.
(How did we get on this subject?)
