For what feels like forever, I’ve always looked forward to the day where I’d have “grown-up bedding.”
Not that I couldn’t have it before now–I mean, I am an adult and have been for a decade. But for whatever reason, I just never got around to buying all those throw pillows, splurging on nice bedding, Egyptian cotton sheets–do you know what I mean?
But now that we’re engaged, and moving into our first real home (that is ours! Eek!) together, I feel like the day has finally come to upgrade to the bedding I’ve always dreamed of.
Now–what that looks like exactly? That changes almost daily. (I’m so bad at pulling the trigger on anything!) But I’ve narrowed it down to neutral tones, soft quilts, with a casual, comfortable feel–nothing too stuffy or “done” looking. Of course, going for a balance that is both masculine and feminine, and suits both my style as well as Neal’s.
Here are some of my very favorites, in case you’re also in the market! Click the images to shop them below!
While I do still love our IKEA bedding, it will feel pretty good to banish it to the guest room 😉
Loving the pom-pom quilt! I wish I would have seen this about 5 months ago when I was searching for bedding for our master bedroom. I might just have to buy it as a back-up set!
I had this same epiphany a year or so ago. I went out and spent a ton of money on a nice comforter and pillows… only to turn around and miss my Ikea comforter. Ironic, i know. Good luck on your shopping ventures.
Agreed! Very cute picks!
Textured dots, all the way
I like the grey stripes option the best. Grown up bedding is my essential comfort. 100% cotton sheets in a high thread count became a part of my life in college. I’d splurge on them over any other home decor item. I think the key to keeping it casual and comfy is the type of fabric and fewer embellishments. I like a crisp, white down comforter over grey sheets, and then I have a few quilts I rotate through folded at the bottom of the bed. The white really brightens the bedroom, and the quilts add texture and color. You’ll love new bedding!
I almost just purchased the Dash Shit bedding for myself recently!! But I couldn’t pull the trigger (or rather, my bank account was saying HOLD UP SISTAH). Love all your options, I know it will look fab 😉
xo,
