I have to admit, I have been a little excited about the sporadic “fall” weather we’ve been having lately. As sad as I am to see summer go, I really do love autumn, too. It’s when Neal and I started dating, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
Not to mention, MY FUTURE WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. (!!!!!)
That “fall” weather I was referencing above? It was nowhere to be found when we shot this outfit. It was actually 90 degrees, humid as HELL and the term “sweater” applies in more ways than one. HA!
(But it makes looking at these photos even more funny, right? Do you like when I tell you all the funny behind the scenes stuff or does it ruin it for you? ;-P)
Luckily it’s cooled down a bit since then, making it perfect weather to throw on this comfy sweater dress–which is, in my opinion, a great closet staple that makes for some super easy, cute fall outfits.
I also think this pretty burnt orange sweater is the definition of Fall. Strangely, I never actually buy anything this color, but I really should. I’m always drawn to corals in the summer, so it makes sense to transition into the fall version when the temperatures start dropping!
The best part about this cute fall outfit is that this dress is a ste-alll (it’s just $36!) You’ll also recognize these sandals from Madewell I’ve been wearing non-stop. The chunky heel makes them so comfortable, and I love how well they transition from day to night. (They’re coming to Charleston with me too!)
Speaking of chunky heels–I got this text from my best friend Courtney the other day:
“Keys.” (All my pre-adulthood friends call me by my last name) “Are chunky heels in? They’re so comfortable but I don’t know if they’re cool or not.”
If you’re also wondering, like Courtney–YES. I full embrace the chunky heel. Buy some and get lot’s of wear out of them before those awful skinny heels come back around. (Your feet with thank you.)
I never would’ve thought to pair a grey clutch with this outfit, but Blair is constantly inspiring me 😉 It totally works! I’m going to play around with mixing my neutrals a lot more now! I love the tassel detail on this purse.
This weekend I’m heading to Charleston, SC for my friend Ally’s bachelorette party! If you’ve been following me for a little while, you know that Neal whisked me off to Charleston right after he proposed! (You can read our engagement story and see photos here!)
I don’t know how anything can ever top that weekend again, but it’s going to be so surreal returning this time with my goofiest college BFF’s. We’ll be staying on (in?) Isle of Palms, so we’ll be getting some beach time in too. (Just cross your fingers for sunny weather!)
