It was one of those legendary Chicago summer Sundays that make you forget you’re in a midwestern city all together. Warm, breezy, and down by the water, you could have sworn you were in the French Riviera (if the only restaurant in Monaco happened to be Friendship Cafe Chinese).
I couldn’t have dreamed up a better outfit for a summer walk on the pier. Have you heard of Buckley K yet? They’re a local Chicago, dynamic-duo, rockstar, pair of sisters. And yes, they are the designers who make this adorably versatile striped dress (c/o). Their mantra: to equip you with versatile, travel-inspired, go anywhere pieces that are ready to hit the road as soon as you are. That means their dresses are ultra- comfortable, wearable to any occasion (I could easily dress this up for a dinner date with a pair of wedges) and most importantly, travel proof. (Even for me, they are VERY hard to wrinkle! Which says a lot, coming from someone who has been referred to as a walking tornado more than once in life.)
Styled easily with a classic pair of Keds and a perfect boyfriend shirt (literally) that I swiped from Neal’s closet, it was the perfect casual, summer evening! I love that hint of menswear that balances out the girly elements of the dress. To switch things up, I tied the shirt in the back, rather than going for the classic front tie. This outfit was perfect and effortless on it’s own, so I kept the jewelry to a minimum and opted for a turquoise ring instead.
