Everlane Jeans are $50 This Week! My Ultimate Everlane Jeans Guide

Happy Tuesday everybody! (Self-quarantine Day #5 for us over here!)

I’m refreshing this post today because Everlane has so wonderfully given us something to get excited about this week, and launched a $50 denim sale! ❤️(If I had a nickel for every time I said, “just another reason to love Everlane!” I would be a rich woman!) Many of you have DMed me with questions about fit, etc, not knowing that this whole post existed, so I thought this was worth refreshing!

Here is the email I received in my inbox from their team:

What a time this is for all of us. At the Everlane virtual headquarters, many of us spent the weekend grappling with our new reality and how, as a company, we can best show up and offer support.

Three things are clear for us:

We need to come together with our customers and community. Now more than ever, we all need to find ways to connect and share our humanity. We plan to get creative in how we do this. Stay tuned.

We can use our business to give back. While all businesses and individuals will face challenges during this time—including us—many will be hit harder than others. We’re working with organizations to figure out the best way to support them—and take action together with all of you.

We want to offer our customers meaningful value in uncertain times. We’ve always provided value through transparent pricing. But during this period, we want to give back more to our customers. We intend to break our own rules and offer weekly promotions that make our everyday basics even more affordable. Look out for something new each Monday.

Starting tonight, we’re kicking off with a full week of $50 denim.*

So, in that spirit, please reference my guide below to my absolute favorite pairs of Everlane jeans, how to find the best size for you, length comparisons, and a whole lot more! **Please note that the original version of this post is sponsored by Everlane, but this refresh is not.

At long last, one of my most requested posts is HERE:

My Everlane jeans guide!

As you know, Everlane is an ongoing partner of mine! (We just renewed our contract again through this summer! 🤗) and when I told them I wanted to do a big ole jeans review, they were so on board!! If you’re new here, I have been an OG Everlane fan since the beginning––years before they ever started sponsoring the blog. My love for this brand runs deep, so the fact that they are now an ongoing sponsor of mine is definitely one of my biggest career wins to date! ❤️)

Anyway, they were kind enough to send me some of their newest styles to test drive, and I’ve also included some of my longtime mainstays as well. I have been wearing Everlane denim for years now, and I can’t say enough good things about their quality, fit, and variety of styles!

Another great thing about their denim is that it’s made in a LEED-certified factory that recycles 98% of its water, relies on alternative energy sources, and re-purposes its byproducts to create amazing jeans with as little waste as possible! (You can read all about it here!)

Before we jump into the jeans guide, I wanted to note a couple things!

My sizing, for reference:

I about 5’6 for height reference, and I am almost ALWAYS always a size 25, which is what I’m wearing in each pair of jeans here!

Properly caring for your denim:

I will attest to the quality of Everlane jeans and have owned some of my pairs going on 3+ years now. However, I think it’s important to note that the reason they still look new isn’t JUST the amazing quality, but also because I never wash my jeans unless I HAVE to. Literally ever, unless I spill on them or they are dirty.

The more you wash your jeans (and anything else for that matter), the faster you will wear them out–so don’t just toss them in the laundry because it’s easy and you’ve worn them once. When you MUST wash your jeans, wash them inside out on COLD water, and hang them (or lay them flat) to dry. If you need to air them out, simply hang them outside, or put them in the freezer. (Sounds weird but it works.) If you want more laundry tips, check out my massive post on how to care for your clothes here!

A note on tailoring:

It is PERFECTLY normal for it to be hard to find jeans that fit your length, so if that’s you, don’t dismay. Everlane does not carry petite sizes, but they do have “ankle” length, which will likely hit many of my shorties as full length. Taking them to a tailor is a simple solution if you want to adjust the length. It doesn’t cost very much and is well worth the investment.

A note on extended sizing:

This is something that comes up a LOT, and they don’t currently carry plus size, but they do carry up to size 35. (Most jeans go up to a size 33 and the curvy jeans go up to size 35!) I have asked them about extended sizing, and they have told me it’s in the works, but they are still a small company, so it’s a marathon, not a sprint––they want to ensure they’re taking the time to do it right!

Everlane’s review section is its best-kept secret for accurate sizing!!

If you read nothing else, please read this! It’s SO helpful!!

We ALL have different bodies, and how something runs on me may be different for you, right!? So here’s another reason I LOVE Everlane––if you scroll down to Everlane’s “reviews” section on every product page, you can actually *sort the reviews by size, height, and weight*––how amazing is that!?! If you still have questions, they have a special fit related email on each page––shoot them an email and they’ll be happy to get back to you with more specific fit related answers!

Okay, I think that’s it for my denim related announcements. Let’s jump into the good stuff!!

My Ultimate Everlane Jeans Guide

The Cheeky Straight Jean:

So first, let’s start with my most worn cut of Everlane’s jeans lately––the Cheeky Straight jean. I’ve owned these (in the Indigo wash) for a LONG time now and they are not only my #1 most worn pair, but they were my best selling product in ALL of 2019! So many of you have fallen in love with the Cheeky Straight just like I have!

I loved them so much, I decided that I had to order the washed black color to round out my wardrobe (and in both regular and ankle so you can see the difference). This color is definitely more of an edgy wash than I would typically gravitate toward but I’ve been LOVING them. Here’s what they both look like:

Cheeky straight–Washed Black:

Jeans: Cheeky straight washed black ankle length after a few wears (left), Regular length first try on (right) – I’m 5’6 for height reference, Tee: Striped cotton crew (wearing size small), Sneakers: Court sneakers (see my full review of Everlane’s brand new sneakers here!)

Cheeky straight-Faded Indigo:

Everlane Jeans Guide

Everlane Jeans Guide

Jeans: Cheeky straight ankle length (Faded indigo wash, these jeans are years olf and this is their “fully broken-in” fit), Tee: Striped cotton crew (wearing size small), Heels: Day Heels (run TTS!)

What is the “Cheeky Straight” fit?

This style is form-fitting all the way through the seat––think a “wedgie” type fit, and it has a straight leg all the way down through your calf. I like to describe these jeans as “gateway jeans for people who are trying to break out of skinny jeans but everything else feels too trendy.”

How does that differ from Everlane’s 90’s cheeky jeans?

The 90’s cheeky, on the other hand, is similar, but definitely a classic 80’s “Mom jean” fit––both are straight, but the 90’s fit is more relaxed. The “Cheeky Straight” has a tiny bit of stretch, whereas the 90’s Cheeky has no stretch.

Do they stretch?

They do have a touch of stretch (they’re 98% cotton, 2% elastane), but I would NOT describe them as “stretchy.” They don’t bag out, but they will adjust to fit you, so they will start out much tighter in the butt and then adjust to fit you accordingly.

(See above, you can see how the top left black jeans and the indigo jeans are a bit looser than the right. The black pair on the left and the Indigo pair have been worn many times and the pair on the right I had just pulled on for the first time.)

Sizing:

Ankle, Regular, and Tall. (One of the few styles that come in tall!) Sizes 23-33.

I am typically always a size 25, and that’s what I ordered here. At first they will feel tight, but then they will stretch to adjust (without getting baggy). I don’t want these to be super tight, so that’s the fit I was going for, but if you wanted them tight (and/or you’re in between sizes) you could go with a smaller size! **Make sure to scroll down to the reviews and you can sort reviews based on those who wear your size!!**

Rise:

On ankle vs. regular fit:

I honestly love both. Again, I’m 5’6 for height reference and there isn’t a massive difference between the two on me–the difference in length is about 2 inches!

The 90’s Cheeky Jean:

Jeans: 90s cheeky denim ankle length (left), regular length (right)- I’m 5’6 and a size 25 for reference, Tee: Striped cotton crew (wearing size small), Heels: Day Heels

The 90’s Cheeky-Vintage Wash:

90's Cheeky-Vintage Wash

Left: Jeans: 90s cheeky denim vintage wash, Sweater: Alpaca sweater (runs oversized!), Booties: Day boots (ecru)

Right: Jeans: 90s cheeky denim vintage wash, Sweater: Cashmere square turtleneck (runs TS), Heels: Editor heel (runs TTS)

Next, let’s talk more about the 90’s cheeky! I’ve had a pair of their vintage wash distressed 90’s cheekies for over a year now and I LOVE them! They really do feel like your favorite vintage pair of jeans! I’m featuring two washes here because with Spring (hopefully) almost here, I wanted to order the white pair to test out as well!

What I found was that the denim differs slightly between the two colors. While the cut is the same, I think the overall fit varies a bit. In general, they are 100% cotton (whereas the above Cheeky Straight is 98% cotton, 2% elastane), so they don’t have any stretch, but they will “break-in” to fit your body, if that makes sense!

The white pair:

These feel a litttlee more substantial, thicker, more structured material (my guess is that this is because they’re white, so they don’t have show-through, which I appreciate!) I personally think these don’t have AS much give as the blue denim.

Are they see through? Nope! Huzzah! I know the biggest gripe about all white jeans in general is the see through factor, which you don’t get with these AT ALL. (Granted, TMI maybe, but I only wear thong underwear so I can’t really comment on what these would be like with full coverage undies?)

I also like this white pair in particular because I think white jeans tend to be easier to dress up than blue jeans, and with this cut (I.E. not too tight, straight leg) they can actually be much more suitable for dressier occasions, like wearing them on a summer Friday to work, to church with grandma, etc, while still being on-trend and fashion-forward.

The vintage wash pair:

These jeans remind you of your FAVORITE pair of jeans you wore when you were a kid, like, in the best fashion-forward mom-jean way. (Thus, the “vintage” in the name.) They “break in” beautifully–they’re relaxed and become very comfortable. These adjust to become looser over time more so than the white pair. I love the perfect amount of tomboy style they bring to any outfit––I love them with both sneakers or heels. See how I’ve styled the vintage wash in more ways here!

The Rise:

High rise, button fly!

Size range: 23-33 in ankle and regular

I ordered my normal size (25) in each of these and the white pair is tighter with less give than the vintage blue pair, but I still don’t think I’d change my sizing. **Make sure to scroll down to the reviews and you can sort reviews based on those who wear your size!!**

On Ankle vs. Regular length:

For whatever reason, I feel like the “regular length” on the 90’s cheeky appears more significant than the “regular length” on the cheeky straight (although per the website, they have the same inseam). I think it’s just more noticeable perhaps because the leg is cut a bit looser––there is a difference of 2 inches between the ankle and regular.

On the white pair, I much prefer the ankle-length on me––I didn’t love how the white looked rolled and I prefer my jeans to hit a bit above my ankle. On the flip side, I really love the look of the blue denim cheeky jeans rolled, so I’m wearing the regular length in those!

The Authentic Stretch Skinny Jeans:

If you’re in the market for some flattering skinny jeans, look no further than Everlane’s authentic stretch skinnies!

Authentic Stretch Skinnies–High Rise Button Fly:

Jeans: Authentic stretch skinny jean (vintage mid blue wash), Tee: Striped cotton crew (wearing size small), Heels: Day Heels

The Authentic Stretch skinny jeans come in several styles and colors, but this pair is the only pair of skinnies with the button fly. I really love the raw hem as well! Here I’m wearing the ankle length–but fun fact: with a raw hem, you can just cut your own length!

On the stretch:

These are definitely the stretchiest, softest pair of Everlane’s jeans. They are so flattering and really hug every curve of your body. If you prefer them to be more “stretchy cloth-like” vs. “structured denim” but you want the LOOK of denim, then you will love these jeans. I think this “vintage blue” wash is a little softer than the dark indigo wash below, even though they are technically the same material!

The rise + fit:

High rise (11″), button fly! They are snuggly fitting from top to bottom.

Back pockets:

The back pockets on these jeans are a tiny bit smaller and are positioned higher on the booty for a lifting effect. These jeans are super flattering!

Size range: 23-33

I’m wearing my true size (25) here and I think they fit true to size. **Make sure to scroll down to the reviews and you can sort reviews based on those who wear your size!!**

Last but not least, the Authentic Stretch high rise vs. Authentic Stretch Mid rise! I wanted to show both versions here because it really just boils down to personal preference!

The stretch:

Like I said before, these jeans are Everlane’s stretchiest jeans!

The fit:

They hug every curve beautifully and don’t bag out! They are also super flattering (especially in this color)–when I put these on, my photographer Hannah was like “WOW YOUR LEGS LOOK SO LONG!!!” I imagine this pair is not unlike the jeans from “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” 😜––I think they truly flatter EVERYONE.

Sizing:

I’m wearing size 25 (my normal size) in both and they are tight at first and stretch a bit over time, but never lose their shape, if that makes sense? However, the 25’s in general fit me snuggly. (I really only wear skinny jeans anymore when I’m going out at night so I like them on the tight side. If I wanted to wear them all day every day, I may have sized up!)**Make sure to scroll down to the reviews and you can sort reviews based on those who wear your size!!**

The Rise:

Mid rise is 9.5″ (they hit right below my belly button), High rise is 11″

What about the curvy fit?

Great question!! Many of you asked about the curvy jeans––the curvy jeans are just a specific type of the Authentic Stretch skinnies! They adjusted the waist to hip ratio to eliminate the waist gap that so many women struggle with! So if you typically struggle with this issue and have curvy hips and a small waist, give this fit a try! These also come in ankle and regular.**Make sure to scroll down to the reviews and you can sort reviews based on those who wear your size!!**

Curvy fit size ranges: 23-35

That’s it! I hope this guide was helpful in narrowing down the best Everlane jeans for you!

Thank you so much to Everlane, one of my very favorite brands (that makes up half my wardrobe 😜) for sponsoring this post, and thanks to YOU, my girls, for supporting the brands that allow me to continue creating the best possible content that I can for you!
