Happy Monday!
How was your weekend? Here in Chicago, the rainy weather continued, but luckily it seems to be clearing up! The rainy weather tends to get to me, but at least I get to look forward to wearing my Hunter Boots, right?
It was definitely an action-packed weekend! We attended Neal’s High School Reunion (how did we get this old already?) on Saturday night, which was a lot of fun! Saturday during the day I got quite a bit of work done while he and his friends went to the Homecoming football game.
There’s a lot happening behind the scenes–we launched a brand new website for Blogging For Keeps (if you’re a blogger, make sure to join our 7 Day “Double Your Blog Traffic” Challenge!) And as I hinted on Monday, I’m working on my own site re-design as well that I’m hoping to get live early this week! Stay tuned for that!
Yesterday afternoon, we rode our bikes to Logan Square and went to Sweet Rice for lunch–it was SO good. If you’re looking for amazing, cheap Thai food–I can’t say enough good things. Their noodle soup bowls are only $3! And their Thai fried rice is a must. I’m having leftovers for lunch today and I’m counting down the minutes until noon. (Is it acceptable to have fried rice for breakfast??)
Okay, now, on to today’s outfit!
(Side note, I realized the items in this outfit post were going fast, so I switched it to go live sooner than planned, thus the double back-to-back outfit posts on Friday & Monday!)
Remember my favorite new fringe cardigan? My sweater and skirt (skort, actually) are also from ChicWish. They have so many cute things right now and they’re all at really affordable prices.
I was in a really girly mood when I picked out these pieces. I’ve always had a really funny relationship with the color pink. I never wore it when I was younger, but then in 8th grade I went through a phase where I literally wanted to be Elle Woods from Legally Blonde and decided that everything I wore needed to be super girly and pink.
After that, I was burnt out on the color, deciding it was for little girls. Now, fast forward later in life, it’s become one of my favorite colors again. Often people think it’s just for spring and summer, but who says fall outfits can’t be girly?
If you’re like me and scared of feeling too bubblegum barbie–go with softer pink hues like blush, which feel more subdued and sophisticated. Light pink is such a flattering color on everybody!
Also, if you don’t own a pair of great nude pumps, I would highly recommend it! I love these t-strap pumps and wear them throughout every season–they go just as great with fall outfits as they do with spring ones. (Plus, they’re close-toed, so you can even wear them in the dead of winter!)
Mine you see here are old, but you can see a similar version here, I think these these D’Orsay versions are super chic, and also love these lace-up versions.
Your t-strap nude heels are super chic. Love the tie-front skirt too.

I love this whole look — how you mixed the shades of pink, and the heels! The skirt is my absolute favorite though!

Obsessed with that skirt!!
I think my feelings on the color pink are probably too positive (as anyone who has seen my apartment can probably attest :). Excited to check out the new Blogging For Keeps site. I’ve found it really incredibly helpful, along with your Ask Jess videos. There are tons of blogging tips and advice sites out there but yours has truly been the most helpful and motivating. Keep up the great work!
Super cute! I have so little pink in my wardrobe. I prefer reds, but I have added in more blush over the past few years. Love those pumps too!
This outfit looks so cozy and chic! I love it! I can’t wait to try the Thai food straunt you suggested.
