Four Versatile Fall + Winter Essentials You’ll Love (New Video!)

**Press play to watch the video!**

Dress: Leith (comes in black, light pink, and lavender too!) If you’re looking for more t-shirt dresses, I also love this ruffle sleeved tee dress (only $39!) that I wore here! Booties: 1.State (only $99!) Also love this pair and this pair, Scarf: old, but similar here, here and here, Trench coat: London Fog (they also make a similar one here and here!) Bag: Rebecca Minkoff’s ‘Love’ bag –my exact version in olive is no longer available, but this one is nearly identical, just slightly larger!

Happy Wednesday!

We are halfway through the week already! Wahoo! (Also, I’ve got a new VIDEO for you today!) Be sure to comment and let me know how you like it and if you think I should keep doing more video! (And specifically, what you like about video, that would be so amazing!)

How has your week been so far? Mine has been productive and busy–I actually went to THREE different birthday dinners for three different friends last night–haha! (But really, what was in the water 9 months ago??) I’m still waddling around from Orange Theory earlier in the week but I’m trying to get back in at least three times per week these days.

Anyway, I’m feeling a litttlee weird about this trend of me continuing to post about fall when it’s 80 degrees outside.  I’ve been sweating in my booties for weeks now, but I’m continuing to wear them regardless of what the weatherman says because IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE FALL.

However, because many of you are NOT living in this Midwestern sweatbox we call Chicago, I suppose I’ll carry on–for you, and also in the hopes that one day soon I will be able to wear my fall favorites without overheating.

SO. Let’s get into it, shall we? Because there are some reaaaallyy great things I’ve got to show you today!

The Leith Ruched T-Shirt Dress

This dress has actually come back in stock several seasons in a row and has gained a secret underground cult following. Last Fall I was in St. Louis for my best friend’s wedding (hiii Smith!) and the bridesmaids were all at lunch and one said to the other, “OMG is that the Leith dress??” and then they all started babbling, “OMG I HAVE THAT TOO–IT’S MAGIC!!”

I decided I needed to check it out for myself, and purchased it last winter. It’s not only insanely comfortable, but it’s so dang flattering! It’s ruched on the sides so it’s form fitting without being tight. (Nothing like the skin tight spandex American Apparel dresses I used to squeeze myself into in my college years. RIP sausage dresses.) It’s short enough to wear with OTK boots but also not so short that you couldn’t wear it to work.

It also looks adorable with sneakers. (You can see how I styled it with sneakers last spring here!)

Ever since, I swear every time I wear the dress, I have at least one person comment, “oh my gosh, I have that too–it’s my favorite dress!”

Last bit of gushing: It’s $59. ? BOOM!

Neutral Heeled Booties:

You probably remember these booties from their debut as an item in this month’s Capsule Wardrobe Remix series! They won a coveted spot because they are so darn versatile, and also–the comfiest heeled booties ever! I wear them to dinner walking around our neighborhood and they haven’t given me one blister. (Very impressive.)

These in particular are by 1.State, and are only $99! I love that they have the cutout feature in the back, and I love the perforated suede because it’s a nice mixup from regular leather. I don’t usually buy a lot of tan, but I actually have found that the color of these booties makes them super versatile–they’re

If you’re looking for something with a lower heel, you should check out the Sam Edelman Petty Chelsea Booties. These are one of my absolute favorites and are sooo comfortable, too! (Kelly owns them in–I kid you not–4 different colors. Maybe 5?) I have these Sarto booties that I really love as well that come in tons of colors!

Trench Coat:

Anotherrrr item that scored a spot in this month’s Capsule Wardrobe Remix series! (You’ll see how I styled it over the next few posts in the series!) When it comes to versatile, transitional outerwear, this classic trench coat really can’t be beat. It’s made by London Fog and is really as wonderful as it looks. If you can’t splurge on a Burberry trench, this is definitely a very close second! It has a detachable hood, a removable liner (for when you need the warmth) and the most beautiful, classic design.

Plaid Scarf:

I mean…if you aren’t wearing a plaid scarf, is it even a fall outfit? This one is super old, but I’m listing a few of my recent favorites here:

Favorite plaid scarves for fall:

Where to buy more favorites? Nordstrom is always getting new fall items in–you’ll find me stalking their website daily–especially the new trendy arrivals. They have a huge range of prices and the shipping is always free both ways! Did you know you can also shop online and then pick up your purchase in store if you don’t want to wait? That’s one of my go-to moves. ?

If you’re in the shopping mood, here are some more of my recent Fall favorites:

Big thanks to Nordstrom, one of my favorite retailers, for sponsoring this post!

I’m honestly loving the videos! I especially liked your sneak peak into the fall capsule wardrobe one because it gave quick and easy inspiration to some fall pieces. Sometimes when I look at pictures I can get overwhelmed at all my options so the video summarized the capsule super well for me. I even tried out some of the variations of the black t shirt dress this past weekend! Another plus to video is that they give movement to an outfit. I know for me personally I might love the way an outfit looks in a picture but when I actually start doing things in it it turns out its not practical or just plain not as cute as It was when I took my selfie 😛 Loving the content lately, definitely brightens up my days in the office!

Aw thank you Paisleigh! This makes me so happy to hear! Also, can I just say, I LOVE your name. A+ to your parents! (Way cooler than boring “Jessica” :-P)

I just purchased one of your favorite scarfs – It’s AMAZING! It’ll be my staple all fall. It’s the tan-multi oblong scarf – best color combo ever.
