Hi friends!
It’s been a fun past few days. After quite an eventful travel adventure (see post below), I finally made it home to the Pacific Northwest. Neal flew in a few hours after me and we spent Saturday and Sunday hanging out with family, Christmas shopping, and bopping around a few awesome breweries.
At home in Chicago, we always forget how fast we’re moving, always wishing that there were more hours in the day, aiming to pack just one more thing into our schedules. But here, it’s the opposite. It’s so nice to walk outside and actually realize that clean air has a scent (heavenly juniper, to be exact) and that time can (temporarily) slow down for a change.
I was so bummed to put Neal back on the plane yesterday to get home in time for Christmas Eve. (His family is having a murder mystery themed Christmas Eve and I have SO much FOMO it’s not even funny!) but I’m excited to have a few more days to spend with my family, since it doesn’t happen too often!
I hope everyone else has a relaxing holiday, and remember to take a few minutes to yourself, take a deep breath, and enjoy some down time!
