The first OFFICIAL Friday of summer, mind you. How about that? Agh. I love summer so much.
I am especially happy right now writing this post because all the doors and windows in the house are open, there is an amazing breeze, and I am listening to Taylor Swift’s RED album, which I totally forgot about and SHE’S BACK ON SPOTIFY. OMG my life is whole again.
This week has been a really great one! I’ve gotten a work out in EVERY day this week. (How proud are you? I, personally, am astonished that I’ve pulled off such a thing.) Starting to take the wedding prep thing more seriously, apparently. The “7 minute workout” thing is really a lifesaver though.
I know many people would NOT count this as a workout, but I’m a wimp and loathe physical activity (other than yoga and walking and leisurely bike riding) so the fact that it’s really hard but over in 7 minutes is pretty fantastic. Sometimes when I’m feeling extra crazy I repeat it 2 or 3 times like a circuit workout and it’s really awesome.
This week, I had so many fun girls’ dates too! On Tuesday night I made zucchini white pizza with my friend Meg. I got pizza dough from the store, smeared it with Boursin cheese, and topped it with caramelized onions, thinly sliced raw zucchini, and chicken, and baked it in the oven! To finish it off, I topped the pizza with burrata and tossed arugula with homemade vinaigrette. It was SO. GOOD. I cannot recommend it enough–it was the best light summer pizza!
Then on Wednesday night I went over to my friend Liz’s house and we had a wine date and caught up on her balcony, and yesterday, I met up with Kelly for a work date at Floriole. (Hooray! Mitch is out of school for the summer, so he watched Emma and we got so much done!)
Anddd perhaps one of the biggest highlights of the week–I saw Aladdin on broadway with my friend Kai last night! It was soooo good–have you seen it yet?
My face hurts from smiling so much and I haven’t stopped singing the songs since I left the theatre–the entire cast was so incredible–especially the actors who played Aladdin and Genie! It’s here through the summer so if you’ve been thinking of seeing it, go! Go go go! You can buy tickets here. I would also highly recommend grabbing a bite at Prime and Provisions beforehand. We split the chicken sandwich and fries with some rosé and it was the perfect pre-theatre dinner!
Anywho, enough jibber jabber–today’s outfit is definitely worth talking about!
First of all, have you noticed how black and white gingham is EVERYWHERE right now? I just got this cute off the shoulder ruffle top (shocker) and it is sooo cute. I love that it’s lightweight too so it keeps you cool! Linking some of my other favorite gingham pieces below, too!
More black & white gingham:
I also recently got these twisty blush slides from DSW (they’re less than $50!) they are by Nine West and they are SO comfortable! I actually walked home from Liz’s in them–which is a mile and a half walk and I didn’t even have any blisters! Love when that happens 😉
