How was the weekend? Ours was so busy it didn’t exactly feel like a weekend–life has been flying by at the speed of light–have you been feeling that way lately too? Based on this fact–I thought, maybe it was time we played a little catch up, yes?
First off, I’ll be packing up my favorite little suitcase yet again and leaving for NANTUCKET this Saturday! I’m meeting Kelly and her family there for four days and I’m so excited!
Before I met Kelly, I admittedly never even knew where Nantucket was. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been to the East Coast, and that’s pretty much limited to visits to New York City and the Newark airport. I have no idea what to expect, but I’m pretty excited about it.
We’ll also be heading to the Nantucket Wine Festival and squeezing in lot’s of cute summery outfit shoots–so, more of those to come! The trip actually came about because Kelly’s parents were bummed she couldn’t drink wine (being 7 months pregnant) and needed a stand-in daughter to go wine tasting. Luckily, I was available 😉 I’m always up to the job of being an adopted Sheehan for the weekend!
Second, I FINALLY got my hair cut. It had been literally a year and a half. I went to Sine Qua Non in West Town–not only is it a gorgeous salon, but they did a phenomenal job. Fun fact: You get a choice of fruit infused water, coffee, tea, or a PBR. Ha! (I totally would’ve gone for the PBR, but it was early afternoon and I still had work to do.) They have several locations all around the Chicago area, so anyone who is looking for a great salon, I can’t say enough wonderful things!
Third, we’ve been getting into the Chefs Table series on Netflix–have you watched it yet? Each episode profiles a different chef, and it’s so interesting!
Fourth, I recently learned about a company called Dermacare, which is basically like an online dermatologist! You basically submit selfies of your skin, and the doctor prescribes you a medication, combined with a moisturizer all in one product! The service is just $20 a month and is WAY better and cheaper than going to the doctor! I’m in the midst of testing out the product right now–I admit, like with any new skin medication, I did experience some major purging of my skin (so many breakouts, ugh) but I’m hoping this means it’s working. The breakouts have definitely subsided recently, so I’m hoping this means its on the up and up! The service is only available to Illinois residents currently, but they’re looking to expand soon.
Fifth, Blogging For Keeps has been keeping Blair and me VERYYYY busy latey! If you missed the announcement, it’s a site we recently launched specifically for bloggers who are looking to grow! (Part of the reason you haven’t been seeing as many outfit posts. Sorry for that! Hoping to get back into the swing of things and doing more of those soon!) We have a bunch of free downloads, worksheets, and checklists for members of our email list, so if you’re a blogger, or know someone who is–hop on over there 🙂
Sixth, I’m considering renting another camera for our trip to Paris. I’m debating between a Canon 5D or a more portable, travel friendly Sony. I’ll let you know which one I choose! Also, for those of you who are bloggers or into photography, LensRentals.com is my favorite website to rent from!
Seventh, I’m really looking forward to Memorial Day weekend at the lake house! (I’ll be home for a whopping TWO DAYS before heading there after I get home from Nantucket!) It’s been forever since we’ve been up there and even longer since we’ve gotten to hang out with Neal’s family. Now, fingers crossed we get some good weather 😉
