I’m pretty excited about this idea I got a few days ago. So excited that I decided I had to put it into action in less than 24 hours. (With my to-do list, I’m pretty sure that was the first time anything of the sort has happened.)
Except then I had a huge technology meltdown, and I couldn’t make my big announcement in 24 hours as I had hoped. But that’s okay, I’m telling you now, and that’s what matters, right!? (Thanks a lot, Mailchimp.)
You see, I’ve been trying to think of a way to cater more toward those of you who are bloggers, soon-to-be bloggers, or potentially-could-one-day-be bloggers. I am so so flattered to receive emails from you asking advice, tips, and my expertise on the subject.
Having a blog is something that most deem out of reach for themselves, simply because it’s nearly impossible to wrap your mind around where to start, how to tackle your long list of to-do’s to get started, or to get that new project off the ground, to finally bite the bullet and splurge on a new camera–there’s always something holding you back, whether you’re just starting out, or you’ve been blogging for years.
(But here’s a little secret: you can pull it off. It isn’t rocket science!)
And I’m certainly no expert by any means, but I am an open book! So the idea to create a weekly email Q&A column (exclusively about blogging!) was born.
I don’t want to post too many blogging articles here on GG, simply because, hello–most of you aren’t bloggers. So this new “email column” as I like to call it, is a way for us to get to know each other on a whole new level, AND so you can pick my brain on all your blogging questions–the sky is the limit.
Again, I definitely don’t know it all (not even close!) but I’ve gone through a lot of trial and error in the past year and a half or so since I’ve launched this blog–and I want to be there to help you jump start your blogging dream, too!

The concept is simple!
Sign up for the “Ask Jess” email list below. To get started, I’m asking you a couple questions to help me understand how to help you in the best way possible. They’ll only take a few seconds to answer! (But the more detailed you are in the last question, the better!)
Then, starting Friday, I’ll pick one reader’s question per week to answer and expand upon. It’ll be Q&A Friday, right in your inbox! If you wish to remain anonymous in the event that your question gets chosen, that’s completely fine, just let me know! On the flip side, if you’d like me to publish a link back to your blog in the newsletter, I’m happy to do so!
After that, email as many questions as you have to Jess@TheGoldenGirlBlog.com, and we’ll keep the fun going week after week!

So why would I create something like this in the first place?
Because I remember almost throwing up as a pushed ‘publish’ on my first Instagram photo that told the world I had started a blog not too long ago.
But not just any blog, a lifestyle blog (and that included lot’s of style.)
Now, this doesn’t seem too out of the ordinary, especially for those who don’t know me personally.
But it was for me. It was for the girl who could have easily been voted worst dressed of her sorority pledge class just 4 years prior. The girl who didn’t live in a perfect apartment (in fact, everything in her apartment was a hand-me-down from her roommate’s very generous parents. Perfect for a broke twenty-something, but not home tour material if you know what I mean). That girl barely knew how to work a point-and-shoot camera, let alone a DSLR! She didn’t know any photographers, any existing bloggers, or have any connections of any kind.
And let me tell you, just about everyone starts at that point.
So I wish I would have had a source of information like a weekly Q&A email column. Hell, I wish some of my favorite bloggers would do it too right now, so I could learn from them as well!
That’s the best part of blogging. Sharing what you’ve learned, so it can help others grow and be inspired. That’s what it’s all about!
