Today’s outfit inspiration created in partnership with Lord & Taylor and Shopstyle!
The spring wardrobe fun continues today! Hooray!
I’m excited to be teaming up with Lord and Taylor styling some adorable ON SALE spring items that you can wear now and later. (Because it’s the worst when you buy something so cute and have to wait forever to wear it, right?!)
I shot this at our hotel, Mountain Shadows (which I’d highly recommend, it’s STUNNING!) when I was in Scottsdale for a conference last week–I actually got to meet with the Lord and Taylor team in person! It was so great to get to know them a bit more in depth, and fun to see their enthusiasm for everything they’ve got coming down the pipeline this year!
If you haven’t shopped at Lord and Taylor for awhile, you should! They also carry a lot of my favorite brands (and your favorites too!) like…
Favorite brands to shop at Lord and Taylor:
Miss Selfridge: This happens to be the brand that makes this cute little frock that I’m wearing in today’s post! Miss Selfridge is probably my #1 favorite brand to shop at Lord and Taylor. If you’re a fan of Topshop, you’ll love Miss Selfridge! Their items are affordable and allow you to experiment with trends without breaking the bank!
Mango: They carry SO much cute Mango stuff! If you’re looking to stock up on some awesome spring finds on a budget, I highly recommend perusing through their Mango selection!
BB Dakota: I’ve been wearing BB Dakota as far back into my adulthood as I can remember ? It’s one of my favorite brands––they also happen to be the brand that makes my super cute faux fur shrug you see me wear in today’s post, too! ?
Blondo: I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Lord and Taylor carries a VERY impressive selection of my favorite winter boots! Every pair they make is waterproof suede––an essential for any cold-weather dweller!
Lord & Taylor brand: The retailer’s namesake label is great for super affordable and versatile wardrobe staples–plus, they have extended sizes, which is awesome! Lord and Taylor shoes are especially adorable–like the bow pumps I’m wearing in today’s post!
Splendid: My favorite brand for the comfiest clothes and loungewear around–right now their PJ’s are on sale! ??
WAYF: One of my go-to brands for feminine, on-trend dresses that won’t break the bank! (They’re all on sale right now too!)
…Okay, now, let’s get into this cute little floral number I’m wearing today, and three different ways to style it!
Dress it up:
The star of today’s show: the little floral dress!
A dress like this is sneakily one of the most versatile pieces you can have in your wardrobe! Because it’s a subtle, darker floral, that means you can wear it now when it’s still cold (and next fall and winter!) without it feeling too bright or over the top. I also love the button-front detail that makes it feel sweet and feminine!
Sizing: It runs true to size–if in question, you can size up. I went with a 2 and it fit great.
For a dressier look–like a date or drinks with the girls, I love adding these pumps! These are an awesome all-weather heel that feels perfectly springy, but the closed toes add a little extra warmth, so you’ll want to wear them when it’s chilly, too! I was actually very pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are for the price point!
Sizing: True to size!
I’ve been wanting a little faux fur cropped shrug FOR-EVER (or should I say FAUX EVER….FUR EVER?! ?)
I was so happy when this one went on sale! It’s BB Dakota, which is one of my favorite brands–you’ll definitely want to snag it while it’s marked down so you can wear it now with all your spring dresses, as well as next fall and winter, too!
Sizing: True to size, I went with XS.
For the office:
The first look with feminine heels might have been a no-brainer, but for something more out of the box–try this:
Give this look a twist with a more masculine element like loafers–and you’ve got a whole new look! Add tights to make it warm as well as office-appropriate. To dress it up even more, you could add a blazer as well!
I fell in LOVE with these Steve Madden loafers the second I saw them. Also, I have regular black loafers already, but the patent leather makes them dressier and so much more fun! I saw a girl wearing an outfit exactly like this one when I was at a friend’s birthday party–I immediately went home and stalked the internet to find patent leather loafers––and voila! Lord and Taylor carried the perfect pair! I hope I run into that girl again so I can tell her she inspired this entire look ?
For a date:
Last but not least, this one is perfect for a night out––whether that be with a date or the girls. Here I’m wearing the same adorable bow pumps you saw above, but with a simple layer switch–you have a whole new outfit! This time I styled the dress with this cream colored moto jacket. (Classic Juxtaposition rule at play here. ?)
The edginess of the jacket tones down the sweetness of the dress and the shoes, giving it a little more attitude! The neutral color plays well off of both elements, while the suede adds a new layer of texture to make the outfit even more interesting!
I’ve been wanting to add a light neutral colored jacket to my wardrobe for a long time now, and I’m so glad I finally scored this one! It’s SUPER soft and really love the light cream color–it’s perfect for spring (or making a winter outfit feel springier ?) and I think moto jackets are a really great wardrobe weapon to have in your arsenal–they always make what you’re wearing more interesting, even if it’s just a t-shirt and jeans!
Ta da! That’s it! Which look is your favorite?
Huge thanks to Lord and Taylor for sponsoring this post! All opinions are 100% my own. Thanks for supporting the amazing brands that support me and allow me to keep creating the best possible content for you guys! ?
