LOTS happening over here this week, guys.
Mainly–it’s closet renovation week! Huzzah!
I’m working with The Container Store to revamp our master bedroom closet and Neal’s office closet and oh my gosh, I can’t wait to see the finished result. Our whole house currently looks like a bomb went off because everything that was in both of those closets is strewn elsewhere, but I keep telling myself it will be worth it ?
In other great news, before we dive into today’s outfit–nearly everything I’m wearing in this post happens to be on sale! And I didn’t even plan it that way ? Love when that happens!
Two sales you should know about right now:
Madewell: Get up to 30% off with code ONYOURMARK (full priced items!)
Some favorites from Madewell:
These mules (I just got them over our anniversary staycation weekend!) They’re really comfy and I love how they make every outfit look perfectly classic and “fallish” (on trend but not too trendy!)
These super chic suede ankle boots that are the PERFECT heel height ??
OBSESSED with this turtleneck sweatshirt (I love that it’s a sweatshirt!) in the prettiest marigold color!
This white and black striped tissue turtleneck tee–GUYS! I haven’t seen a white one with black stripes for two years! (The one I have is SO OLD from J.Crew and I was furious they never brought it back! I’m snapping this up bc mine has holes in it I wear it so much every winter ?)
J.Crew: Get 40% off with code BIGSALE (full priced and sale items!)
Favorites from J.Crew:
The jeans I’m wearing here. They are SO comfortable–I love their cropped length (which makes them easy to wear with those booties you can never figure out how to make work with skinny jeans!)
This leopard blouse I just got–I wore it to a bridal shower on Saturday and then out for a birthday party and it was perfect!
The camel-mustard colored topcoat I’ve been wearing nonstop the past couple of weeks! It makes everything I pair with it look SO much cuter!
This adorable pajama set. It has “do not disturb” embroidered in cursive on the pocket. S’cute!
Their classic STUNNING Sadie ankle boots. They come in tons of colors–I particularly love black, this beautiful rust color, and leopard print! I’ve been wanting to pull the trigger on these but I can’t decide which color! One of the most versatile pairs of shoes you’ll by all year!
Chateau Parka–one of their super popular parkas that’s also super warm–it’s made with their stadium cloth, which makes it a lot warmer than most wool coats out there!
Chic, comfy work pants that don’t look like “office pants”– the matte crepe material of these pull on “easy pants” will make them favorites in and out of the office!
Velvet leopard wrap dress–polished enough for work, fun enough for a party–you’ll wear this dress for everything!
Shop everything that’s part of the J.Crew sale here!
Anyway–on to today’s outfit!
What I love about this outfit:
The star of the show here is clearly the sweater–I don’t know about you, but I’m seeing a lot of striped sweaters this year in lot’s of beautiful fall colors–burnt oranges, browns, marigolds, dusty pinks, greys, and more! I love it. (I mean, do you know me? I own FAR too many stripes, but I love each and every one!)
Here I went classic and casual–pairing it with these jeans from J.Crew (which are on sale by the way!) I love the button fly and the straight, cropped leg–paired with the colors in this sweater, it pays homage to one of my favorite decades–the 70’s! I went with a classic loafer for footwear, and some fun but subtle earrings to jazz it up.
At first glance, you may not think this is a “versatile” sweater–but louder pieces can be pillars of your wardrobe too, as long as you know how to style them!
Other ways to style this striped sweater:
Switch up the footwear: This outfit would look SO cute with these mules (I just bought them in white the other weekend–I’m in love! The brown or black would also look cute!) or some classic white sneakers, or play with pattern and add my favorite leopard sandals or leopard loafers.
