Soo we haven’t really “caught up” in awhile with all the holiday craziness, have we?!
That being said, I thought we were long overdue for a “life lately” post! The most exciting thing that’s happened in my life lately is that my sister had a BABY! (Which you already know if you read Friday’s post and yesterday’s post!)
We have been waiting for a little girl in this family (after my sister’s three boys!) for SO long, and we finally got her! I can’t wait to meet her when I head to Bend, Oregon (where my family lives) this afternoon! Neal will fly out to meet me on Friday, where we’ll spend the weekend with my fam, and then head over to Portland to take care of some wedding planning on Sunday! Then, it’s back to Chicago for the holidays with the Loftus clan 🙂
Last week I spent the afternoon shooting ALL THE THINGS with Julie. One of them is this fun gift guide for foodies and a foolproof holiday menu with items from Sur La Table at Westfield Old Orchard Mall. (I’m obsessed with that store!) More on that coming soon!
A couple weeks ago, I stopped by my bestie Melissa’s house to meet her new puppy, Harper! She’s a rescue and is still a little shy, but is so sweet! The most hilarious thing is that she HATES rolling suitcases. I had mine with me because I had come straight from a shoot and she was NOT having it. Noted to leave my suitcase at home next time ;-P (By the way, the turtleneck tunic I’m wearing here feels like straight up PJ’s. SO COMFY! You can buy it here.)
A couple weekends ago, my Aunt Ann and cousin Ally came to visit us in Chicago! It was so much fun having them here! One of the highlights of the trip was introducing them to deep dish pizza at Lou Malnati’s. They obviously loved it 😉
Remember the beanbag I’ve been babbling on and on about? (See this post for details.) HERE IT ISSSS along with my Christmas decorations 🙂 I move it right in front of the fireplace and then just…don’t move for hours. Speaking of, I’ll be sharing the full tour of our revamped fireplace, living room and kitchen updates soon!
Okay, so REALLY BLURYY. BUTTTT this captures the essence of our dorkiness. We both were wearing grey sweats and our glasses and looked at each other like, “OH GOD.” Lot’s of nights have been spent like this lately binge watching “The Crown.” Have you seen it? It’s SO GOOD.
One of my best friends, Ally, just got married last month in St. Louis and her wedding was so much fun! She looked like a real life princess (when she came out in her dress, her niece said “Aunt Ally looks just like Elsa!”) and she also got us the cutest getting ready rompers with reindeer on them! (If you’re wondering, they’re from Victoria’s Secret!)
One of my favorite buildings in Chicago is Union Station. The “great hall” is seriously breathtaking, and when it’s decorated for Christmas, there’s really nothing more magical 😉 I snapped this photo right before I hopped on the train to St. Louis for Ally’s wedding!
