What do you have planned for the weekend!?
We are laying low tonight, it has been a crazy workweek for both Neal and I. Tomorrow we’re going on a date to Eataly for dinner, and Sunday my in-laws are coming into the city to hang! I’m looking forward to a low-key couple of days to recharge!
Switching gears, it has been approximately ONE BILLION YEARS since I did a Life Lately post. I’m honestly pretty bad at taking photos IRL but I need to get back on the wagon. 😜Here are some snaps from what’s been happening behind the scenes over the past few weeks!
Day date at the Art Institute
We LOVE going to the Art Institute and went on Valentine’s Day afternoon for a little daytime date! It’s the best thing to do on a cold winter day–after, we grabbed a drink down the street at The Gage!
Momotaro for Neal’s birthday
Similar headband here!
We celebrated Neal’s birthday (on the 16th!) at Momotaro! He LOVES sushi (but I hate seafood, so we never go 😂) so I wanted to take him to celebrate his birthday, since we never go any other time! We both LOVED it (tip: sit at the counter!) and they had plenty of great options for me, too!
Girls trip to Nashville
I recently went on a girls trip to Nashville with three of my besties. One of the highlights was definitely renting an igloo on the rooftop of the Bobby hotel! You get your own private igloo (tip: there’s a minimum, so we booked the latest time slot since the minimum was lower then!) It’s super cozy and they have lots of fun themed drinks, like spiked hot cocoa, and board games! (We played Cards against Humanity and I won for the first time in my whole life! 😂)
Buddy comes to visit
Danielle and Conor went out of town for a week, so we got a whole 7 days dog sitting Buddy!! We love him SO much. He’s the best cutest dog in the whole world. We both looked at each other last night and said, “I miss Buddy.” 😭
It was 40 degrees 😂
We have had some HEAT WAVES here in Chicago let me tell you. This is not the norm for February and it makes me think there’s going to be a beast of a cold spell awaiting us in March, but for now, I will TAKE it. This is what I wore to meet friends to watch the IU game last weekend. This Everlane liner jacket is awesome on its own, but amazing for layering underneath other coats as well for days that are too warm for puffers but too cold for spring jackets!
Neal’s birthday trip to ESQ:
Neal’s go-to place for custom suits is ESQ and we’ve become great friends with the owner, Ge. They also have some ready to wear items, and I knew I wanted to surprise Neal with a little shopping trip for his birthday. This blazer is what he ended up getting––SO fun for spring and summer!! Can’t wait to see him wear it!
A few weeks back, Neal was in San Francisco for work! It’s one of my favorite cities (and one of my best friends lives there!) so I always like to join him if I can! I took this photo on the ferry to go visit Everyman Jack’s headquarters, which was so much fun! I got to meet the Founder and CEO who was so cool! Neal and I highly recommend their clean men’s products––they’re so affordable too! Read his favorites in this post! Use code JESS30 for 30% off at Everymanjack.com!
I got an Apple watch
I got an Apple watch!!! My main goal in getting it was to help me be more mindful of moving and getting more motivated to work out, and it’s definitely helped a lot! I’ll do a full review of it once I’ve had a chance to fully get to know it! 🙂 Tip: Order from the Apple store directly and they will deliver it same-day!!
Quick trip to Dallas with Equilibria
Yesterday I got back from a quick 24 hour trip to Dallas with Equilibria! (BTW you can always get 20% off your first order with code JESSKEYS!) We were there for an influencer dinner with an amazing group of Dallas bloggers. (If you don’t know, I work with Equilibria on their influencer marketing strategy! Any other influencer you see posting about Equilibria-–that’s me and my team behind it! 😉) It was so much fun! I always love visiting Dallas!
