If you’ve stopped by over the past few days, you’ll know I’ve been hinting at a site re-do happening behind the scenes.
Well, my friends, I am SO excited to introduce you to the whole new blog design! As you can see there have been quite a few changes made around here…
Perhaps the most exciting of all, GG gets a brand new logo! My friend Katie Kerrigan from high school is an insanely talented calligrapher and designer. She whipped this up in no time, and it was exactly what I was looking for. Since I started this blog, I’ve grown up quite a lot, and I wanted my new logo to be a bit more refined and sophisticated to match.
New design (duh)
Hopefully you noticed the whole new design part 😉
Again, I really wanted to bring a different accent color to the site, rather than having everything stark white. I think this achieves the perfect balance between color and clean.
My favorite part of the new design is that it makes so much more content accessible–way less clicking around to do.
You’ll see the three highlighted posts on the very top–which, by the way, I’d love your opinion–do you like how it is currently, with the three most recent posts at the top? Or would you prefer that I pick three random posts to highlight in this space? I thought the latter might be fun, but curious as to your thoughts!
You’ll also notice that the format overall allows for easier browsing, with smaller post previews and more posts shown per page!
One of the coolest parts of the new design are the categories. Go ahead and click any category above, and you’ll be taken to a category page that displays post images in a grid-like format. (Being a visual person, I totally geek out over this feature!)
You’ll also notice that I’ve simplified the menu quite a bit to focus more on where the majority of my content really lies now: style, home decor, beauty and lifestyle posts.
So–how do you like it? Would absolutely love your feedback on what you love, and any other features you’d like to see as well!
(Also, I’m currently writing this post at 1am, so there are definitely little minor updates that still need to happen, I’m sure! If you see any, will you let me know?)
I can’t thank you enough for all of your support over these last few years–I’m so excited to see where this next one will lead us together.
