I know this sentiment isn’t exactly the norm, but I have always loved Valentine’s Day.
As a little girl, I would get so excited to go to the store to pick out my valentines. Should I choose Snoopy? Disney Princess? What candy should I tape to them? A sucker? A package of heart candies? (Which I always looked forward to eating even though I thought they were gross.)
One year I remember getting home from school my dad had a bouquet for my mom, my sister and me sitting on the kitchen table. (Mine came with a TEDDY BEAR and a LITTLE RED MAILBOX) and I just about DIED.
Valentine’s Day is still something we look forward to every year.
Something we treat as a real excuse to celebrate! (Neal’s birthday is also the 16th so it’s always a fun celebratory weekend!) We love to get dressed up, make drinks at home and head to one of our favorite restaurants for a late dinner.
I think even though it’s a “Hallmark holiday” it’s a great reminder of all the love that you have to be thankful for––which, for me, doesn’t just include Neal, my family, my girlfriends, but YOU.
I don’t think I can ever truly thank you enough for being part of this online family of mine––you inspire me every day to be innovative, creative, to push the boundaries and be a better version of myself.
Every blog post you read, every post you share with a friend, every Instagram photo you like, every insightful comment you make, every event that you attend, or every purchase you make through my affiliate links––it may seem small and insignificant, but that all matters, and it all makes a difference in my life.
Even if we haven’t met in person, I hope you already know that I consider you my online friend, and I value your friendship so much!
I wish I could send each and every one of you a handwritten valentine, but this digital love note will have to suffice. Thank you, and I love you!
Cheers to you, my girls, this Valentine’s Day.
xoxo
Jess.
