What did you do this weekend? We had a really awesome one. It was the perfect amount of lazy and busy.
Friday night we went out for a date night downtown–random, but I think one of the best kept secrets is Wollensky Grill on the river. It’s the downstairs bar at Smith & Wollensky and it’s an entirely different restaurant. The whole wall is windows and it’s a beautiful view of the river and the city. The food is great and the cocktails, too! You must sit at the bar! (And order the coconut cake for dessert!)
Saturday we went over to our best friends Kate + Matt’s (they’re getting married in Big Sky Montana next weekend! I could NOT be more excited! Matt is an avid meat smoker and they made smoked duck on the Big Green Egg and we DIY’ed scallion pancakes. It was seriously the best thing I’ve eaten in I don’t remember how long. ?It was so much fun.
Anyway, I thought it would be fun to kick off the week with some fun little reads for your commute. ?
I loved the comments in Cup of Jo’s “Not So Strangers” post. You have to go read it!
You need to know about this new art company, Spacey, which has turned the process of buying art on its head and actually made it approachable and accessible to everyone! Every season, they partner with 15 top emerging artists to create limited-edition prints. All prints are framed and signed and start at just $95. For every print purchase, they donate a portion of proceeds to art students seeking financial aid. I’m definitely going to get some pieces–which ones are your favorites?
You can finally buy my living room rug! I get so many questions about my living room rug–I had it custom made by Atlas Weavers and they now have an option to purchase it on their website! ??They also offer custom-made rugs as well for a VERY reasonable price. (Obviously rugs are an investment, but for custom, authentic rugs, I think their pricing is super competitive!) I’m going to be doing a whole post on rug shopping soon!
Loft is having a 40% off sale and they have a LOT of cute stuff! My favorite is definitely this forest green rain coat! SO adorable! These will also be great versatile pants for spring that are great for work, too!
If you’ve been with me from the beginning–you know I started my freelance career as one of their first editors! It’s been so incredible to watch them explode in just a couple of years–they have always been such an amazing resource for career advice–now they’ve taken it to a whole new level! They have a “Find Your Dream Job” course and a “Photoshop Essentials” course–both look awesome!
If you need a laugh (seriously don’t watch this on the train because you will laugh embarrassingly hard and cause a scene)–this is literally the funniest dog video I’ve ever watched. In my life. I shared it on stories on Saturday morning and everyone else agreed too. ?
I hope you have a wonderful Monday! (We’ve got 50 degree days in the forecast this week! ??)
