As you guys know, I’ve been using a lot more Beautycounter products lately, so naturally, I’ve been getting more and more questions on reccos and favorite products–so I’m sharing that big ole list today!
(Also, this isn’t sponsored, but I do make commission on Beautycounter products just like I do with anything else on this blog. I feel some sometimes people think Beautycounter is a sponsor because I talk about them so much–they aren’t. 😂Not that it would matter anyway, my opinion would be the same–but–you know. Some people think it does, haha!)
If you’re not familiar with Beautycounter, it’s become one of my favorite clean beauty brands! One reason for this is simply convenience and time–because I’ve been transitioning my products over to cleaner versions and they make so many different things, that simply ordering the Beautycounter version when my current “non-clean” product runs out has become my go-to routine. (It saves so many headaches and TIME that I would’ve had to spend scouring so many product labels!)
I really trust their products because they’re extremely strict with what they put in them, and they don’t use any ingredients that could be considered harmful–going well beyond what regulated by the United States government.
Scary fun fact: The US actually hasn’t actually passed a major federal law pertaining to the safety of ingredients in personal care products since 1938. (To put into perspective how absurd that is, remember that women were granted the right to vote in 1920–only 18 years earlier!!)
Over the past two decades, our friends in the EU have banned close to 1,400 chemicals in the product formulas of personal care products and restricted the levels of over 250 more in such products. The United States? We’ve only partially banned 30 of those same ingredients to date!
There is a growing amount of research showing that chemicals we repeatedly are exposed to daily through our personal care products can lead to chronic disease and even infertility. So, the founder of Beautycounter decided to do something about it, and create a company where women could buy anything they wanted without fear of exposing themselves to products with unknown harmful side effects.
After learning more and more about clean beauty a year ago, I’ve made an effort to switch my personal care products to “safer” alternatives when I’ve been able to find a comparable solution that works just as well as my existing products. I focus on skincare first and foremost, because skin is our largest organ and our skincare products are obviously what our skin is exposed to most often! Think about it. It’s the first layer you put on your skin, morning and night. Makeup comes secondary. (Also I’m a makeup SNOB so it’s been harder to find comparable products, if we’re being honest!)
Before you have a panic attack about everything in your medicine cabinet, I will assure you that I do follow the 80/20 rule.
For example, I have truly loathed every *super clean* foundation and concealer I’ve ever tried. So I look for makeup brands that are free of the worst stuff–mainly “parabens.” Even though they might contain some obscure ingredient that MIGHT be thought to be harmful, they’re much better than a lot of other brands. (For the record, this “cleanish” foundation by Bareminerals is my go-to!)
Moral of the story… My philosophy is don’t lose sleep, but do what you can. That’s why I love these products from Beautycounter. You can rest assured that everything you buy from them is super safe and the following products I love even more than their “non-clean” counterparts.
ANYWAY. I am babbling. Let’s get into my faves…but, first:
Want free shipping and 15% back every purchase? If you’ll be purchasing more Beautycounter products throughout the year, it’s definitely worth it to become a “Band of Beauty” member (a $25 fee) where you get free shipping, a free product as a gift when you sign up, and 15% of your subtotal put toward your next purchase every purchase! That means if you spend $100, you’ll get $15 in credit applied toward your next purchase! (It’s not a credit card or anything like that, it’s really easy!) You can sign up for that right here!
I’ve been using this shampoo and conditioner for more than a year now and I absolutely love it! It’s sulfate free and of course has none of the bad stuff. It is very gentle and easy on your hair, and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg! I like that a little bit goes a long way with both. It’s hard to find a good sulfate-free shampoo that lathers like a regular shampoo and this one does the trick!
Also, I love their Citrus Mimosa bodywash! It leaves your skin feeling super soft and doesn’t give it that “stripped” feeling that a lot of bodywashes and soaps do! It has a really light citrus scent that isn’t too overpowering (Neal uses it sometimes and doesn’t complain about feeling like he’s using “girly soap” 😂)
This is definitely one of my very favorite Beautycounter products of all time! I use it every day when I air dry my hair and it’s been a total game-changer. It gives it the right amount of texture without making it feel crunchy or gross. Plus, it’s really affordable!

Here’s another all-time favorite beauty product. Their rejuvenating eye cream! It has caffeine in it so it really helps perk up your eyes even if you’ve pulled an all-nighter! I like to apply it and let it sink in, then follow with my jade roller (extra plus if you’ve put it in the fridge for added de-puffing!) or ice roller (I keep mine in the freezer and I’m obsessed) It’s like a mini spa treatment!

Sheer lipstick: If you’re one of those girls who hates the feeling of having something heavy on your lips, and thus, tends to avoid lipstick as a result. You will LOVE their sheer lipsticks! They come in lot’s of pretty colors. (Above top photo I’m wearing “coral” which is a great daytime color!) They’re super moisturizing too and won’t flake off if your lips are feeling dry!
Color intense lipstick: If you want a bold lip, I also love their “Color Intense” lip color! It’s more of a matte formula but it doesn’t dry your lips out like so many other of my favorite matte lipsticks! (Above bottom photo I’m wearing “9 to 5” which is probably my #1 most worn color!) I would say this formula looks like a matte lipstick in color, but feels WAY more moisturizing and never flakes if your lips are dry.
This was one of my most popular reader favorite products, so I definitely wanted to try it out–it didn’t disappoint! Great for controlling breakouts, drawing out impurities from your pores and clearing up excess oil!
My best friend Tasha (remember the one who I was visiting in Cincinnati?) swears by the Charcoal cleansing bar. She says it’s really helped balance her skin and reduce breakouts! She convinced me to buy it and I love it as well! This is also a great product for your husband because it’s just about as “unfussy” as they come (i.e. he won’t feel un-manly using it :-P) but it’s really amazing for his skin!
I always thought all face wipes were created equal and honestly only bought these on a whim because I was going on a trip and I prefer traveling with wipes instead of facewash–but then I used them for the first time and OMG I’m obsessed. These are the only wipes that actually lather like a facewash–so they really do clean your face in addition to removing makeup–but you don’t have to rinse afterword! They’re amazing, and they don’t leave your skin feeling oily OR stripped dry.
Big disclaimer: I have eyelash extensions, so I don’t wear mascara. I’ve recently heard from some people that these wipes aren’t great for removing mascara, so if you wear a lot of mascara and don’t want to add the step of removing it with makeup remover, maybe don’t buy these. I will have to try them when I don’t have lash extensions and report back! I LOVE how well they remove face makeup though!
I love that this lotion really does what it says–it adapts to the level of moisture your skin needs and provides all-day hydration. (I thought it was a total crock when I read this on the website, but now I’m a believer! ) If you’re one of those people whose skin gets drier throughout the day, especially in the winter (like you look in the mirror at 3pm and your making up is flaking off–UGH) then you’ll love this lotion.
In an independent consumer study, after two weeks of use, 93% said it provides instant and long lasting hydration, 93% noticed skin feels smoother, 90% said skin looks and feels healthier. SOLD.
I was very apprehensive about trying this because I feel like so many anti-acne products just dry the hell out of my skin but these definitely do not. I have the face wash, all over acne treatment and spot remover! It’s especially helpful for eliminating those annoying little bumps you get on your forehead and around your hairline! Does this remove super stubborn cystic hormonal acne? No–but if you’re the person who always has a couple random breakouts, you will love this.
This multi-purpose cleansing balm is fantastic–it’s a makeup remover and cleanser all in one, and can also be left on clean skin as an overnight mask. You apply it dry, smear it around and then let it sit for a couple of minutes, and then wipe it off with a warm cloth. Great for dry skin! I also will apply it on my cuticles and even my lips at night if they’re insanely dry!
If you don’t want to splurge on the cleansing balm and are just looking for a regular cleanser, I would definitely recommend the Nourishing Cream Cleanser as an everyday face wash. It’s less than $30 and a little bit goes a long way–it’s insanely gentle on your skin (so good for those with sensitive skin or eczema), is very moisturizing and doesn’t ever leave it feeling stripped.
This is one of their newest products that has received a TON of buzz for really good reason. It’s a very gentle overnight peel that evens skin tone, lightens dark spots, and targets fine lines. It’s still pretty potent, so you’ll want to start just using it once or twice a week and then gradually work your way up! You’ll wake up with a glowing complexion!
This set is an absolute STEAL–valued at over $132–this set includes some of their best-selling products, many of which are listed above (all of which I have tried and use regularly with the exception of the #1 facial oil–I haven’t tried that one yet but it’s my most popular reader recommended BC product!) This would be an awesome gift for yourself or any woman in your life, especially for BC newbies who want to test out a few different products at a great discount!
Set includes: cleansing balm, countermatch adaptive moisture lotion, charcoal mask, brightening facial oil.
