Happy almost Friday!
Okay I’m technically publishing Friday’s post on Thursday night early because… guess where we’re off to at the crack of dawn!?
Boston–for Neal’s cousin’s wedding! (Hooray Mike and Allison!)
I’m so excited! I haven’t been to Boston since I went on a field trip in 5th grade while studying the Revolutionary war. It was insanely cool then, so I can’t imagine how much more fun it’s going to be as an adult! If anyone has any suggestions on what to do while we’re there, we are all ears! We’ll be wrapped up in wedding festivities over the weekend, but we’ll be staying through Tuesday to explore the downtown area on Sunday and Monday!
The rest of the week as a bit of a blur–I feel like the wedding stuff ebbs and flows, so I’ve been pretty sidetracked with that a lot lately! I’m also trying to schedule a few posts ahead of time so I don’t have to go totally dark over here during my wedding and honeymoon!
In other news–this weekend is also the final stretch of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! It ends on Sunday night, and prices go up on Monday, so if you’ve been putting off perusing what’s left, now is the time to do it! I’m wearing several on-sale favorites in today’s featured outfit, and also rounding up a few select favorites when it comes to shoes, clothing, and accessories. (Scroll below!)
There is still a ton of awesome items in stock, so it’s definitely worth checking out to complete your wardrobe for fall! My favorite part about Nordstrom is that there are always no-hassle returns, so when in doubt, I usually buy two sizes to ensure I don’t miss out on an item because it sells out before I can exchange it for a different size! Even if you aren’t looking for fall clothes, they have a lot of great fall shoes (more on those below!) work wear, and activewear, too!
Like many items, this slipdress keeps going in and out of stock, so if you click and only see one size, definitely keep checking back! I usually like to go a size down in slipdresses because they don’t really have a shape, so I think it’s more flattering for them to be a bit tighter vs. loose–here I’m wearing an XS. I’ve been lovvvinngg the dark florals lately because you can wear them now and later in the fall, too! Here are more favorites:
Dainty gold jewelry
My favorite Monica Vinader bracelet is part of the sale and makes the perfect gift (if only to yourself!) You can also take it to any Nordstrom store and have it engraved! I also get sooo many questions and compliments on my dainty gold initial necklace, and there’s a very similar version on sale as well.
There are soo many good leather jackets on sale right now, including the one I’m wearing here! I’ve had my brown leather jacket for years (it was a gift from my mom when I was studying in Italy) but I had never quite found the perfect black leather jacket. I wanted one that was really lightweight, but still warm, buttery soft, with clean, classic lines–and I FINALLY found it.
It’s on sale right now for under $200 and it’s a total dream. I know it’s still summer, but I’ve already pulled it out for a couple cool nights and it makes me soo happy to wear! Here are some other favorite leather jackets that are part of the sale:
Transitional Sandals & Peep Toes
There are quite a few great pairs of transitional sandals and peep toed shoes that are part of the sale! I absolutely love these adorable block-heel, suede, studded sandals! They come in two different colors and the suede makes them the perfect transitional shoe to wear into the fall. Here are more picks as well:

A few favorites to note–these high-rise Rag & Bone skinny jeans and my leather jacket are probably my favorite buys of the sale! Both run true to size. My absolute favorite trench coat by London Fog is also included in the sale, and it’s one of my favorite purchases of all time (I bought it right before my trip to London, but lucky you that it’s on sale now!) I also love my faux leather leggings and wear them all the time during the fall and winter. Mine are years old, but this pair from Spanx has amazing reviews (and I mean, they’re Spanx, so they’ve got that amazing control top, too!) Finally, how beautiful is this ruffle cocktail dress with the teeny-tiny straps? It also comes in black and would be perfect for a fall or winter wedding! The best part? It’s under $50!

A few items to note–the Madewell tote (shockingly!) is still in stock in several colors! (You know my love for this bag!) There are also so many cute scarves and wraps that are still in stock–lot’s of plaid and I love this cheetah version! I also love these cute canvas initial bags, which are great for travel or even for a bridesmaid gift!
Last but not least, this waffle cashmere wrap is SO SOFT it feels like a combination of butter and your favorite childhood baby blanket. (Weird?) It’s still in stock in all colors and is perfect for travel too! (Hello–built in travel blanket!)

A few favorites to note–the Blondo OTK boots–they stretch in the back (and happen to look just like the Stuart Weitzman 50/50 boots!) so they hug your calf for that beautiful fitted look that is hard to accomplish with other OTK varieties (especially if you have small calves!) They are also waterproof suede–how amazing is that?
The other black booties, the Sarto ankle booties, I absolutely love. The reviews say these run narrow (although I didn’t experience that problem!) but they do come in a wide version–so make sure to pay close attention at checkout to make sure you order the right width for you!
My final bootie purchase was this pair of grey Halogen stretch booties (also come in black) They are really comfy due to the round toe and they look really cute with both jeans and dresses!
The Sam Edelman pumps are also amazing. I have a nearly identical version (mine are slingbacks, but the shoe itself is pretty much the same!) They make really great pumps that are really versatile–you can wear them to work, out to dinner, or even to a wedding. If you’re looking for a great staple pair, these are wonderful!
See you when we get back from Boston! In the meantime, keep in touch on Instagram! 😉
