You guys have heard me talk about my friend Katie for several years now (she’s the one who did my blog logo!) but she just released some amazing new social distancing cards on her Etsy shop and they are SURE to bring a smile to ANYONE’s face! Maybe these are just what you need to get back into the art of snail mail.” –Jess

The Office Reunion/Virtual Wedding:
“Ok I know I already talked about John Krasinki’s Some Good News in an early On a High Note, but this episode is too good not to share! If you’re like me, and have been finding even more joy than usual in reruns of The Office during quarantine, you will love this! A couple who had the same proposal as Pam and Jim reached out to John to invite him to their virtual wedding. He surprised them by marrying them himself and the cast reunited to celebrate. I definitely might have cried… Skip to minute 7:15 for the good stuff!” — Kendall

Dogs enlist in the battle against COVID-19 (Bloomberg)
“BABE! Look at what I just sent you!!!” Neal yelled from bed as I was working at my computer in the kitchen early this morning. It was a picture of Harley the Pug (as soon on Bloomberg’s Instagram this morning–he’s an emotional support dog helping those on the front lines in Mexico!) along with an article about how dogs are enlisting in the fight against COVID. As soon as I opened the article, the headline gave me a new kind of hope!
Reports from the U.K. are reporting that medical detection sniffer dogs are being trained to screen patients with coronavirus! There is a lot of hope for this experiment–dogs have been trained successfully to detect certain types of cancer, so it seems likely they may be able to detect the virus as well. If this succeeds, it could be a game-changer in preventing the spread–with canines being able to screen up to 250 people per hour, each. They will be using both Labs and Cocker Spaniels in the study happening in London. I will definitely be keeping close tabs on this one!” –Jess

The best 2020 commencement speeches
“There were a bunch of virtual college graduations this weekend! Huge congrats to all the grads out there! 🎓I’ve always been a fan of commencement speeches — the emotion, the inspiration and the pearls of wisdom. I can only imagine what it’s like for undergrads to graduate under these circumstances, which is why I’m not surprised that so many amazing leaders were on tap to give 2020 commencement speeches. From Obama, Oprah, Bill Gates, LeBron James, and many more, check out snippets of the speeches from some of today’s top leaders via Forbes!” — Kendall

‘Hollywood’ on Netflix
“Alright, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say despite the snarky reviews that Ryan Murphy’s series was too “syrupy”–I will argue that is the PRECISELY one of the reasons we all need it right now. But who doesn’t need glitz, glamour, drama, love AND a happy ending? Remember happy endings? We don’t see those in enough TV or movies anymore! I loved everything from the cast, to the character development, incredible costumes, and best of all, the revisionist history storyline.
Neal and I inhaled this series (yes, we both agreed on something for once). I will argue that Hollywood is everything we need right now. (On that note, maybe I’ll even re-watch it again from the beginning!)” –Jess

These tips to make your produce last longer
“There is nothing worse than food that goes bad before you can get to it! As we’ve all been eating at home more than usual, you might have come across this problem a lot. This Goop guide is a handy reference for the best ways to store herbs, fruits and veggies. (By the way, if you’re interested in more food-saving tips and to learning the art of cooking without recipes, get excited for Jess’ Cooking in Quarantine e-book, coming out soon!
