I love taking photos. I love photography in any form, really. You can imagine the thrill I got out of having all that fresh Oregon scenery at my disposal- all for me to capture from behind my lens! In the words of Karl Lagerfeld, what I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.
I think that’s what I love about these- the moment they captured. These photos started out as a quest for the perfect outfit shoot location- preferably with a lot of trees (which have become very foreign to me despite years growing up in the Pacific Northwest. These days all I know is the concrete jungle of #Chiberia.)
Now, when I look at these pictures, I remember how much fun it was goofing around in the sticks to get the perfect photo (and a lot of silly ones too.) The ones of Neal and I also make me laugh thinking about how cute my peanut-sized mom looked behind my giant camera, fussing with her reading glasses and trying to figure out which button to push (thanks Mom!)
I think in 2014 I will resolve to take more photos of the two of us. It’s so much fun to relive those moments over again. I’ll hope you’ll be along for the journey!
