As many of you know, I packed for Ireland in a travel backpack! I had never traveled quite that light before, but I knew we were going to be hopping around quite a bit, and we didn’t want a ton of luggage tying us down. And know what? It was the best decision I ever made, and I’ll pack even less next time! Read on for my packing tips on how to travel light!
- Five shirts (colors: either black, grey, or striped. No exceptions. Mix of long sleeves and short.)
- Two casual dresses
- Two pairs of jeans (the one’s you see here and dark skinnies. For warmer months, one pair is just fine.)
- Two pairs of shoes (trainers/Keds and boots are great options for fall, winter, and spring. For summer, swap sandals for boots.)
- Three scarves
- One (yes, one!) handbag
- One statement necklace
- One pair of earrings
- One pair of sunglasses (major bonus points if they’re foldable!)
On of my biggest packing tips (Especially for Europe)? Bring several layering options (scarves are your best friend) and stick to one color scheme, so everything you have mixes and matches perfectly (aka, getting dressed is a no-brainer!)
But the real hero of this trip was this quilted leather backpack! (YES it is from Vera Bradley!) I cannot say enough good things about it! It’s so roomy that it fit my wallet, my giant camera, a water bottle, AND some makeup items, too! Since it’s black leather, it was also chic enough for me to take out at night, too. If you’re traveling anywhere, this little buddy is the only purse you’ll need!
Also, my favorite souvenir of the trip is definitely these sunnies! Aren’t they amazing!? They’re the best travel pair too, because they fold up into a little tiny square case, and barely take up any room.
We snapped these photos in Dublin’s St. Stephen’s Green park, which was absolutely beautiful. It’s a park right in the city, and reminded me a lot of Central Park! (Not to be confused, however, with Phoenix Park, which is also another must-see!)
