Happy Monday!
As you know if you follow along on Instagram, I spent the past three days in Palm Beach, Florida to celebrate our friends, Alessandra and Kraig tying the knot. In between wedding festivities, there was plenty of time to lounge by the pool and check out some local spots–one of which was The Breakers hotel. To describe it as “breathtaking” might be an understatement–it was definitely the most beautiful hotel I’ve ever seen! Don’t get me wrong–it’s certainly not cheap to get a drink here, but the chance to take in the views were totally worth the price of an overpriced cocktail. The weather couldn’t have been better, and we arrived just in time to see the sunset. (Why do I live in Chicago again!?)
I wore this adorable little pink dress for the occasion, which was perfect, because it wasn’t too over the top but girly, preppy, and perfect for West Palm Beach. Seeing as the majority of my summery dresses are white and clearly not appropriate to wear for a wedding weekend, I turned to Rent the Runway to rent a couple dresses, and it worked out great! The package was at my hotel when I arrived, so it saved room in my suitcase, too!
If you haven’t rented before, here’s how it works: You can visit their showroom in Chicago to try on dresses with the help of a stylist, or you can order directly online. With the price of renting, you get one backup size included (which is really helpful if you don’t get a chance to try the dresses on first). Your dress then typically arrives a day or two before your event, along with a prepaid shipping label, so when you’re done, you just drop it into a UPS box, and you’re done! I love renting dresses especially for events like weddings, because you never want to wear the same dress more than once anyway!
Also worth noting–they have way more than just dresses! So if you find yourself constantly wanting new clothes to wear, you could also do Rent The Runway Unlimited, which is $139 a month, and gives you unlimited clothing (think tops, rompers, and other casual wear in addition to dresses) to rent and return. Shipping is free and dry cleaning is included. Pretty cool, right? I haven’t given it a try but have been thinking about it–I’ll let you know if I do!
Alright, I’m off to dive into a majorly scary post-vacation to-do list. Yikes! Wish me luck.
