Happy Monday!
How was your weekend? I hope it was as fun as ours!
Seriously, what one day of nice weather can do after winter–it’s pretty crazy, isn’t it?
As Kelly put it in a text on Friday, “OMG all my windows are open and I’m about to clean the house and WHY DO I FEEL SO MUCH HAPPIER WHEN IT’S WARM!?”
Friday was amazing–we took it easy (AKA I slept in and met my friend Meg and her baby James for coffee and didn’t really start working until like 1pm, and then worked for a couple of hours and declared it happy hour). My “office time” also consisted of sitting on our front balcony and sipping iced tea while knocking out some blog posts. I can’t wait until summer where this is a normal occurrence again! (That is, until it dropped about 25 degrees within 15 minutes and became normal winter again.)
Switching gears–I’m excited to share the photos from the third outfit I shot in London! I’m so glad we decided to team up with Maria of Chio Photography, because these photos are so much fun to look back on to remember my time there!
Sadly though, now they hit very close to home. They were shot not far from the scene of the attack there last week (and this post was shot on the exact same bridge where it took place). My heart goes out to the victims and families of those affected. My time there was so wonderful and it was devastating to learn that such terrible things happened in the very place I was standing just a month earlier. Life is scary sometimes, you know? A reminder to always live life to the fullest. I hope you’ll help me send lot’s of love and good vibes across the pond!
On a cheerier note, this might be one of my very favorite outfits of all time. I know, I know–it’s very Parisian-inspired, which doesn’t exactly make sense, you know, since it’s London, after all, but I secretly think I should’ve been born a french girl, so I can’t help myself sometimes.
I actually wore a similar version of this outfit to The Everygirl’s 5 year anniversary party last week! (Except it was freezing, so I went with this black turtleneck on top instead! My hair was also a hot-mess greaseball, so I wore it in a slicked-back pony.) That’s the great thing about these pants (which are $25 off today!) and these shoes–they look so incredibly chic that nobody even notices what your hair looks like! Like, if my hair was a total rat’s nest in these photos, you totally wouldn’t have noticed. They’re like the red lipstick of clothing–put ’em on, and you look instantly put together!
The pants also feel like sweatpants. They’re so comfortable and since they’re kind of weird can’t-really-put-them-in-a-category type pants, you can wear them to work, to a date, to brunch, with any kind of shoes and pretty much any kind of top, any day of the year. I believe the short explanation is…versatile 😛
This top with the bows on the shoulders couldn’t be more…what’s the best word? Darling? It looks adorable tucked in to high-waisted pants especially. How good will it look with shorts, too!? I was between this top and this very similar striped body-suit with the ribbon bow in the back. Which is your favorite? Maybe I need that next!?

This is such a fun look, Jess! I love the stripes, the open shoulders, the shoes, the bag, the waistline of those pants- it’s all good, girl! So sad about the attacks in London. Glad your travels lately have been safe ones.
You look incredibly chic and totally Parisian! Also, your weekend sounds amazing. Here’s hoping it finally starts staying warm in the midwest!

isn’t it crazy to be somewhere something terrible happens? I was in paris about 6 weeks before the attacks in November 2015 and it was chilling just thinking about it. On a lighter note, I love that top! and am happy you had a great trip to London!
