A huge thanks to Nordstrom and ShopStyle for partnering on this post! All opinions are 110% my own!
Dress: c/o Nordstrom–wearing 0–runs a little big IMO! (Shop more similar dresses from Chelsea28 here!) Shoes: Steve Madden–run TTS! (I also have and love the Sam Edelman Yaro sandals which are super similar! Also, if you want a similar look with a low heel, I highly recommend the Steve Madden Irenee sandals!) Earrings: Baublebar (old) but I love these earrings in light pink (I own them in other colors and love them!) and how cute are these pink floral hoops!? Clutch: Vineyard Vines (old) but nearly identical here!
I’ve got EXCITING NEWS today for those of you searching for the perfect summer dress for a rehearsal dinner ??…
1. Remember this post featuring this awesome pink dress from Topshop that I said was perfect for the occasion? It’s back in stock! In pink AND black! And on sale for only $33! ??
2. I’ve got another great dress option for you today (because this is one of my most common requests) that would also be ideal for any welcome party or rehearsal dinner: This ruffled yellow number!
I wore this dress to my friend Kai’s welcome party and dinner last Friday in California and I got so many compliments! It’s made by Chelsea28, which is one of my favorite Nordstrom brands for feminine dresses at reasonable prices! (If you’re looking for another recco, I recommend checking out Eliza J dresses as well!)
I love this little yellow rehearsal dinner dress in particular for a few reasons…
First, the color!
I have discovered that I’m really drawn to bright colors during the summer, likely because my fall/winter palettes are typically very neutral and dark–I have to soak up ALL the color while I can! ??I also think sometimes certain shades of yellow are hard to pull off with certain skin tones, but I think this is a very flattering yellow that would look great on everybody!
Second, it’s LOOSE.
Obviously you’ve probably noticed all the mumu coverage on IG stories lately. ?(I guess upon turning 32, you have an aversion to anything that doesn’t feel like wearing a pillowcase.) BUT I’M HERE FOR IT. This dress fits the bill, it’s loose, extremely comfy, and is flowy while being the perfect length–so you don’t have to worry about any Marilyn Monroe moments!
Third–The details!
I am always about the details, especially when it comes to pretty dresses. From the various ruffle details to the subtle bow tied in the front–this dress has so much personality, both from afar, and even more up close. It makes a statement while being feminine and not TOO loud at the same time. It’s just plain fun to wear!
BOTH dresses (this one, and my other pink favorite) are from–surprise, surprise–NORDSTROM! (But they’re not part of the Anniversary sale–so everyone can shop them right now!)
Whenever I get asked where to look for versatile occasion dresses for things like rehearsal dinners, weddings, engagement parties, showers and more, I always recommend Nordstrom, because they have such a wide selection of versatile dresses! They have everything from casual dresses that can be dressed up or down, Cocktail and Party dresses, and wedding guest dresses. (Plus, you really can’t beat the whole buy online pick up in-store ASAP thing if you’re in a last minute pinch!)
What I styled it with:
I paired it with some fun earrings (mine are old from Baublebar–but they’re my favorite brand for fun earrings–there are tons of other fun styles here!) and some neutral heels–because the dress and earrings were doing the talking. ?This pair is one of my go-to’s–I can often get away with bringing them as my one pair of heels for a whole wedding trip, because they go with everything in my suitcase!
