There are so many things I love about living in Chicago. You might call me crazy, but I really do love the fact that we have all four seasons. As a girl who grew up in Arizona half of her life, I can’t say I experienced too many seasons in my days in the desert.
But luckily for me, Chicago comes with all KINDS of weather–rain, sleet, and snow. That’s why I was pretty excited to finally get my hands on TWO pairs of Sorel boots this season! (More on the other pair later! Okay fineeeee, I’ll tell you–they’re these ones.)
These riding/rain boots are the perfect pair to weather the winter. They’re super warm, insulated and waterproof–perfect for a rainy day (or not!) I love the look of the leather upper, which makes them a nice breath of fresh air from your standard rubber boots! They are also going to come in really handy up at the lake house this season–perfect for walking through the trails in swampy woods.
(Also worth noting if you live in Chicago–Sorel has also just opened a brand store at Westfield Old Orchard where you can shop these boots, as well as all of their fall and winter styles!)
And, on to the rest of the outfit–what pairs better with rain boots than a plaid button down and chunky wool sweater? This sweater might top the list as favorite ever souvenir, purchased in Killarney on our Ireland trip. (Take me back!) It’s actually a men’s sweater, size small. I love the look of oversized fisherman’s sweaters, so the guy’s department is the first place I go to! Same with this flannel, which is actually Neal’s! I love that it’s loose and oversized. (Ideal for the holidays when I seem to be eating everything in sight, yes?)
