Springtime in London

Trench coat: London Fog at Nordstrom (First seen in this post. Also available in black!) This is by far my favorite spring buy so far (and I think it will go down in history as one of my favorite buys of 2017!) It’s got snap-in liner for extra warmth, and a detachable hood. It’s seriously the most classic coat you can own, and it’s under $200! // Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell (sold out! Ugh!) but this Sam Edelman version is literally identical, this pumps version is adorable and $80, and I also have these similar cap-toe flats that I love! // Sweater: Club Monaco (also comes in black!) If you’re also on a blush sweater kick like me–I also love this one (under $100!) with the sweet little ribbon tie in the back. This one (on sale!) is also classic, light, and perfect for spring! // Scalloped skirt: Club Monaco (I’m also obsessed with their new scalloped shorts for $89! They sell them on Shopbop too so YAY for Prime shipping!!) There’s also this adorable scalloped skirt in black and THIS PINK SCALLOPED COAT!?! Dying! // Bag: Cult Gaia (I have the large size!)

I am SO EXCITED to share my first set of photos from London today! Weeeee!

To say London was a whirlwind trip would be an understatement. (For more details see my London photo diary here!) If you missed it, I hopped across the pond for a quick two-night stay to attend an incredible event with Burberry Beauty! I’ll be doing a makeup tutorial highlighting my favorite products that I got to try (and have since replaced several things in my makeup bag!) but that’s a whole different story for another day 😉

Basically, it went like this: Take off from Chicago Sunday evening, land in London at 7am, get to the hotel, shower, change, meet up with my friend Jessica who was also there for the event, and sprint to meet the lovely Maria from Chio photography to shoot some looks!

(I figured I couldn’t miss out on the opportunity to shoot some awesome looks for you guys with London as my backdrop–right?)

This was the first of three looks (get excited for the others!) we shot in London–this was at Covent Garden–the cutest little shopping area with tons of cute cafés and shops. What surprised me most about London (I had only been there once when I was 17) was that literally EVERY corner of the city is gorgeous. Now I’m envious of London bloggers because they have no shortage of beautiful places to shoot, haha!

As you read in my last outfit post, I’ve developed a slight obsession with Club Monaco. Their clothing is so classic and feminine, and I feel like they’ve started producing a lot more items under $200 in the last couple of years (or maybe I just started noticing?)–so it’s reasonable, too!

I posted a dressing room insta-story of this sweater + skirt before I left for London asking your “yay or nay” opinions on the pink on pink and got FLOODED with “YAYS!” which only confirmed what I knew in my heart–this was a match made in heaven!

Two other major spring obsessions that I’ve been wearing over and over: this trench and these shoes! I was so bummed because they sold out during the Shopbop sale but then this morning I found THESE EXACT TWINS! Hallelujah! I wear them with everything from jeans and a tee to dresses and they make everything look so chic! The block heel is perfect because you can wear them day or night and they’re always suitable for any occasion. (I think I’m going to wear them to Shaheen’s baby shower on Sunday, too!)

As for the trench, you’ve probably seen me go on and on about how wonderful it is. My favorite part about it (aside from how classic and beautiful it is) is it scores very high in the versatility category–a detachable hood and a snap-in liner for when you need the extra warmth. Because of the liner, it was much warmer than I expected and I was totally fine wearing it in 50 degree temps!

Last but not least–the bag! (You saw it first here!) Neal calls it my “birdcage bag” and asks where my bird is every time I wear it. (See Instagram stories for other spring fashion staples he doesn’t understand.) But it really does add something special to anything you pair it with! Word of warning: They sell out FAST, so snap yours up before they’re gone! (I have the size large, for reference!)

Okay, I’m off to shoot with my friend Julie in Lincoln Park this morning so I have to go get ready!

(Also, side note–sorry I’ve been so late getting my posts up this week. Or have you even noticed? Do you really care what time my posts go up? Ugh. The to-do list. It’s too long!)

Have a wonderful weekend!!

I just got this bag in the mail and I’m in love! Thank you for the packing tip on it from one of your other posts (going to bring it on a trip next week!) I love London so much, it’s my favorite city in the world. Covent Garden especially is one of my favorite spots! You look gorgeous — can’t get over the details on this sweater. Everything at Club Monaco is so so cute!
