HII guys!
HAPPY FRIDAY! If you missed it on Instagram, Neal and I are headed to NYC this afternoon! We’re so excited! I absolutely love New York (and seriously considered moving there at one point) so we can’t wait to get there.
We’ll be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Midtown, which is right next to Central Park–I wish the weather were going to be a teeeennnyy bit warmer, but we’ll take what we can get, right? Hey–we’re in New York–what’s there to complain about?
Also, more BIG NEWS: before we get into today’s post–a big announcement for anyone who is a blogger or thinking about becoming one–Blair and I are hosting our first Blogging For Keeps photography workshop on April 1st! We just opened it today and are limiting it to 15 spots so it can be as hands-on as possible. If you’re interested, or know someone who is, pop on over to this page to learn more about it!
OKAY back to our regular scheduled programming!
Today’s blog post comes from the opposite side of the country–these were shot when we were in LA last week! I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to walk outside everyday in a light jacket, open-toed shoes, and the sunshine on my face. OH MY GOSH.
I just got this little striped dress from Shopbop (yes, it happens to be part of the sale. Are you so sick of the Shopbop sale? I’m sorry! There are just too many good things included to NOT tell you about them! If you haven’t checked out my favorite 11 items on sale, pop over here!)
Before a trip, Shopbop is my go-to website because they have free 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime, and, you know me–last-minute everything girl–it’s kind of a life-saver.
Also, side note funny story: when Neal and I moved in together, I cancelled my Prime membership because it was silly for two people under the same roof to both have Amazon Prime. Well, Shopbop links with your Amazon Prime, so now when I sign into Shopbop, it says “HELLO NEAL!” He also gets email notifications whenever I buy anything from the site. Hahaha.
Anyway, back to the striped dress. I’m obsessed with it–it’s SO comfy, and it’s under $100. I wear it now to dinner with my OTK boots, I’ll wear it in the spring and summer with lace-up sandals (ahem, exhibit A) or my favorite white tennies, or even as a beach cover-up at the lake!
Also THIS BAG. THEEEE BAGGGGG. When Neal saw it he asked, “Where’s your bird?” and the girl at the hotel we stayed at may or may not have asked if I ever carry a hamster inside of it, but other than that I’ve received about 100 compliments on it everywhere I go, and I LOVE IT. It makes every outfit so much more fun and springy!
It’s also very roomy if you can believe it? They come in two sizes, the small and the large. I have the large.
Tip: When you’re packing this bag for a trip–pack it in the box that it came in, and it won’t get crushed. You can also stuff socks and undies and scarves in and around it in the box, so you don’t lose any packing room, either!
You guys have heard my go on and on about my leather jacket, which was a gift from my mom that she bought for me in Italy while I was studying abroad there. It’s my favorite wardrobe item of all time and sadly the leather store I purchased it in doesn’t sell online (It’s Massimo leather though, if you ever go to Florence!) however, this one is really similar and only $199!

Okay, I gotta get my you-know-what in gear to pack and be ready to leave for the airport in two hours! Haha, you know how I like to fly by the seat of my pants 😛 Make sure to follow along on Instagram and Instagram stories this weekend to be part of our NYC adventures!
Have a great weekend!

When Eddy and I moved in together, I also cancelled my Prime membership. I hate that he gets the emails/ notifications whenever I buy something… when we first moved in together I tried to be sneaky and get him a surprise but didn’t realize he got the emails. He acted surprised for me then confessed! haha! oh boys! Cute outfit and have fun in NY
xo, Sarah
YOU ARE THE CUTEST and I miss you already! Remember: Delta Air Terminal for the WIN. Loveeeee youuuuuu
I just got this bag in the mail (literally, it’s sitting next to me at my desk right now.) I’m so excited!!! Ahh it’s just so cute!!! And I love how you styled it here.
Also, you’re literally staying on my block in NYC! I walk past that hotel every day. In case you need food recs around the area, here’s a couple. Cello is a great wine bar on 53 btwn 2 and 3 with great bites (and they have deals after 10!) The Smith, The Upsider, Atwood Cafe are nice American-esque bistro-y types, good for brunch too. Buttercup Bake Shop has AMAZING cupcakes, it’s founder by one of the original Magnolia people! It’s on 2nd between 51 and 52. I love Tenzan for sushi, and Totto/Hide-Chan have amazing Ramen! Jameson’s a fun Irish bar (classier than the other ones on 2nd) that does live music. And anything on 2nd btwn 51 and 50 is good — it’s a block-long stretch of restaurants! Have a great time in NYC/ in the neighborhood!! 🙂
