I’ve spent so much time on Instagram today responding to all of your amazing feedback on yesterdays post – THANK YOU! (I was so nervous to hit publish on that one!)
It seems like so many of you have been going through the same thing, especially struggling with the hormonal birth control thing and I’m so glad that I decided to talk about it openly because it looks like SO MANY OF US have this in common!! Why is nobody talking about it?! I’m going to be doing a follow-up Q&A post, per popular request, on my experience with the copper IUD, so if you have specific questions, feel free to message me (or you can anonymously submit them right here!)
Per my note in the post about taking more notice of what I’m putting in my body, I just placed a big Beautycounter order (based on so many of your recommendations, and Blair’s rave reviews) which will be a big step in the right direction of slowly switching more of my skincare products over to non-toxic options! I ordered the plumping facial oil, rejuvenating eye cream (Blair swears by this one!), all over SPF sunscreen (I don’t use sunscreen every day which is SO BAD! Shame on me!) and this lipstick in “coral.” To be honest, I’m still pretty leery about a lot of “natural” makeup. I guess I’m still not over the stigma that natural makeup isn’t as good as regular makeup, but let’s hope it proves me wrong! I’ll keep you posted!
Some other good “safer” beauty options you guys told me about were Drunk Elephant, Biossance, Ursa Major! (Coincidentally, I just tried their Vitamin C serum last night and LOVE it!) I’ll definitely be doing a lot of posts along the way about the new products I’m trying/using, too.
In other news, I’m going to dinner with Blair, Kelly, and Shaheen tonight (by tonight, I mean, as I’m writing this blog post, which I now realize will be past tense when you read this tomorrow!) I’m so excited to see them! It’s my “unbirthday” dinner, because I never like making a big deal out of my birthday, but Kelly was being bossy so I agreed to do an “unbirthday” dinner 😛
Also, I’m working on one of my coolest projects to date tomorrow afternoon and all day on Thursday. I’m honestly not sure what I’m allowed to share or not share at this point, but I will post some sneak peaks on Instagram stories if I can 😉 Can’t wait to tell you more details!
Okay and COUPLE more things…
1. Do you have a favorite bug spray that actually works? If you look closely in these photos you will see bug bites ALL OVER MY BODY. It’s not a joke people, I am a walking buffet when it comes to mosquitos and I am beside myself with what to go whenever I go to the lake house. NOTHING WORKS. Please send recommendations!
2. This romper, obviously, is worth discussing! I have seen rompers like this and was unsure if I would be able to pull them off or if they were strictly reserved for those super fancy fashioney fashion bloggers but I was pleasantly surprised. I love the adorable little bow detail, the fluttery sleeves, and the fact that it’s only $50! (All good things, you know.) It comes in so many colors, too! Anddd you already know about these sandals that are on sale here (more sizes here and here, but they aren’t on sale. Womp womp.) because I won’t stop talking about them. Anddd did you know I answered all reader questions on the Cult Gaia Ark bag in this post a couple weeks back? So, yeah…I think we’re all caught up on the outfit front!
Because I can’t get enough of ruffles lately, I’m also linking some of my favorite ruffled items below! (All but one of them under $100, too!)
