So remember this past weekend when it felt like spring break outside?
How WONDERFUL was that?! I forgot that shooting outfits can actually be fun when you’re not battling frostbite. The past couple days seriously flew by–it was a busy but very fun weekend!
Friday started out a little rocky because my internet was down for several blocks around our apartment (including the only coffee shop that was within a 20 minute walking distance) so I hopped in an Uber and headed to Kelly’s to work for the day with she and Maya. It’s really nice to mix things up each week instead of just being a hermit and never leaving my apartment all day.
Then, Friday night, Neal and I went to a late dinner at Coalfire Pizza in West Town (which was SOOO good!) If you ever go, I highly recommend the pepperoni and whipped ricotta pizza!
Then on Saturday I met Kelly, Blair, Shaheen, Lauren, Jenn, Kit, Erin, Maya and Emily for brunch at Cindy’s Rooftop, which is probably one of the more beautiful restaurants in the city, and has an amazing view of Millennium Park! After that, I met up with Neal and we went to Stock Manufacturing, which is seriously the best menswear store in the city. Love love love that company! Neal says “it’s the only way to shop!” They have great clothes made right here in Chicago, and they have a bar with draft beer on tap! Neal stocked up on some new wardrobe essentials, so he was pretty excited about that.
Then, Saturday night, we met up with friends at The Bassment, which is a new speakeasy bar under Hampton Social (also one of my favorite spots!) They had an incredible band and the vibe was amazing–almost as amazing as the cocktails.
And Sunday, I’m very proud to announce, that I finally got my you-know-what in gear and started going back to yoga again! I signed up for a CorePower Black Tag membership, so there’s no looking back now! I’m really looking forward to getting into my yoga groove again!
But anyway, enough about the weekend–let’s talk outfit details: I’ve decided that white jeans aren’t just for summer. I think they go a long way in brightening up your outfit (which is, you know, very necessary in the dreary months of January and February.) I’ve always loved white on white, so pairing white jeans with my favorite striped turtleneck was a no-brainer, and these comfy, neutral booties (on sale!) are my weekday go-to. They’re polished, but still super comfortable. And clearly nothing would be complete without red lipstick (M.A.C. Lady Danger!). I also love these classic black aviators (confession, they’re Neal’s, but I steal them all the time. He’s such a good sport.)
I hope you have an amazing Monday! (And let’s hope this great weather continues!)
