How is it already Wednesday!?
You know those kinds of weeks that seem to go by SO fast but also they seem to go by so slow?
(Does that even make sense?)
This was definitely one of those weeks! Neal has been traveling the past couple of days–whenever he does, the weeks always seem to pass by like this.
Yesterday the only time I got out of the house was to take my iPhone screen to get fixed. (As you heard in yesterdays post, I shattered that thing to PIECES on Thanksgiving. WHOOPS!) Luckily, the repair shop was next door to Kelly’s, so I got to pop by and visit with she and Emma, who changes by the day. Isn’t it nuts how fast little babies grow? She’s SO CUTE. For whatever reason, she thinks I’m hilarious. (Which I will soak up now, because soon enough she’ll be rolling her eyes at her embarrassing aunt.)
I had some errands to run earlier today at Nordstrom and then headed to the Gold Coast for a fun shoot on Oak Street with Lauren and Laura! (Photos coming soon!)
As I write this, I’m sitting at Starbucks, taking advantage of their $5 glasses of wine happy hour. (The Gold Coast has the best Starbucks! I miss living over here solely for the nice two-story Starbucks with booze and a pretty terrace overlooking Rush street.) Does your Starbucks have happy hour? You should check. It’s the best.
It was SUCH a beautiful day in Chicago–60 degrees! Totally fooling us all into thinking winter wasn’t going to arrive any second. I’ll take no-jacket weather in almost-December anytime. How lucky are we!?
Other than the usual work, my remaining nights this week are going to consist of cleaning my house and scraping together the guest bedroom in preparation for my aunt and cousin coming to visit this weekend!
(Currently the guest room looks like my personal mail room, which is a great thing to have, unless you have, you know–guests?) We still have to hang the chandelier in the living room, put together the bed frame, and I need to magically find another storage closet that doesn’t currently exist in our house. Any great organizers out there have any advice? I’m thinking of just buying giant baskets and hiding everything in them ;-P
Funny story of the day: (Speaking of the mail room I mean guest room)….
Two pieces of furniture (the bed being one of them) we ordered on Black Friday arrived today and were in the most GIANT HEAVY BOXES. Of course, Neal was out of town at the time and I had NO IDEA how I was going to get them up our stairs. Luckily my poor neighbor came out at just the right time and was able to help me carry the first box up…only to have UPS ring my doorbell ring 4 minutes later with ANOTHER giant box. Poor Frank got roped into carrying another giant box up my stairs. (He totally thinks I have a shopping addiction.) Thanks Frank! You’re the best!!
How’s your week going so far?
P.S. We should talk about wraps. Let’s be real, can we really get enough plaid in the winter? (NOPE!) I love that this wrap is essentially a socially acceptable blanket that you can wear to work or out to dinner. What could be better?

You’ll recognize some of these photos from the Winter Guide, but here’s more where those came from 😉 Have you read it yet?
Read through the Winter Guide below!
Oh no that happens to me whenever I order something big! I placed a couple of big orders over the weekend so I can only imagine your experience with Frank is in my future 😉

What a cute look! There’s something so cozy about wrapping up in a big, soft, warm scarf, and I’m loving the vibrant fall color in the background.
