I can’t say that I wear a ton of rompers, but when I stumbled upon this perfect little thing perusing the racks at Nordstrom in preparation for a bachelorette party a couple weeks back, I knew I’d found a gem. (I’ve also never received more compliments on something I was wearing ever, so, you know, that’s always a plus.)
Rompers aren’t always the easiest item to find–it seems like most of them put me in that whole Goldilocks situation–this one’s too short in the torso, this one is too short in the legs, this one gives me a wedgie, this one is too hard to get off to use the bathroom…(I mean, you’ve been there too. Don’t lie.)
But the one you see here is truly perfect. I’ll tell you why.
First, it’s the perfect amount of sweet and spicy. With a low v neckline and shorter shorts, I wouldn’t normally gravitate to something like this, as revealing things often make me feel like a floozy, but the scallops add just the right amount of sweetness to balance it out.
Second, it’s got the perfect amount of give, so it hugs you in all the right places. It makes your waist look tiny and your legs look super long. (MAGIC.)
AND it’s super easy to get on and off. No more having to McGyver out of your outfit in a gross bar bathroom while doing the potty dance.
Third: It’s black, and the material isn’t too thin, and isn’t too thick–so you can wear it for literally any season. I bought this in the summer, but will be wearing it well into the winter, too. (And if you’re saying “I can wear a short romper in the winter? Of course you can! It’s the same thing as a short dress!)
Anyway, you get it. The romper is magical. There’s one more thing we need to talk about.
This is my first pair of lace-up pumps and oh my gosh am I in love.
They’re Marc Fisher from Nordstrom–my first pair of shoes by the brand, and I have nothing but phenomenal things to say! (By the way, if you live in Chicago, Marc Fisher is having an event tomorrow, October 13th, at Nordstrom, where you can peruse all their brand new styles. Plus, they’ll be donating 20% of merchandise sold to local Chicago charities! Click here for more info if you’d like to attend!)
In other news, we’ve been having so much fun in Grand Rapids! (Neal often comes here on work trips and I like to tag along!)
Have you been? I’m always looking for great recommendations! (HopCat for their “crack fries” is always a must! We’re also hoping to check out the Vandermill brewery!)
By the way…there’s also an amazing ShopBop sale (up to 30% off!) going on right now–make sure to stop by if you have a minute. There’s so much good stuff on sale!
