Dress: c/o Shopbop–runs TTS–it’s a brand called KOS Resort, which I hadn’t heard of before but I really love! I also have this cover up dress by them that I brought with me as well. (That is coming in another post!) You can also buy the brand on Amazon! Sandals: Steven Greece Sandals by Steve Madden c/o Shopbop. TTS and come in tons of colors! Bag: One of my favorite Amazon finds ever. It’s seriously $15–the perfect vacation purse! Earrings: old from Baublebar, but found these $10 dupes on Amazon! Also love these that come in other colors! If the larger tassels aren’t your thing, this pair is adorable! Dainty necklace: Dana Rebecca Lipstick: Beautycounter Girls Night Out
Happy Wednesday!
We got back from Mexico on Monday, and despite the drastic temperature change, it has felt really good to get back to *normal.* I spent a good part of the day brainstorming upcoming content and I’m excited about everything to come! I know you will be too!
Speaking of brainstorming, I’m constantly asking you guys what you’d like to see over on Instagram stories–(because, who am I writing for if not for you!?) which I happened to do yesterday. In particular–about style content. It’s such a weird time of year to be creating style content. (Like, nobody wants to buy more sweaters?) but it’s definitely not going to be Spring any time soon! (At least here it isn’t! 😜) so I asked for your guidance on the subject (said subject being: Style related content in January and February)–and so many of you were like VACATION WEAR!
Which was MUSIC TO MY EARS because I’ve got some great content we shot in Mexico coming your way 😂today’s post being part of it!
(Other ideas being: New ways to style that same old sweater and jeans you’re sick of wearing, shoes you can wear that aren’t boots, activewear so you can be more motivated to go to the gym, Valentine’s Day date outfit ideas, and so on–all amazing ideas, which I’m also working as we speak!)
ANYWAY. Back to vacation wear.
I am a huge procrastinator (shockingggg, I know 🙄) when it comes to packing or preparing for any trip (I never pack earlier than the night before, and I typically don’t think about when I’m bringing more than a few days before that–so for vacation wear, super fast shipping is a requirement 😂) Thus–Shopbop and Amazon to the rescue!
Everything you see here is available on one or the other, so if you’re a last minute shopper, you’ll reaallyyy love this post.
Anyway, in addition to the Prime shipping, I love these two sites because they always seem to have the best selection of warm weather clothing in the winter. I fell in love with this new-to-me brand, KOS Resort–especially this beautiful maxi dress. Was there a more fitting dress for a Mexico vacation? I think not! We shot this at sunset our beautiful resort, Unico. (I would HIGHLY recommend, I’ll be doing a post on that too–stay tuned!)
Absolutely, I adore this dress. I love the adorable dainty floral print, the beautiful, intricate, and subtle lace details around the neckline and flared sleeves, and how breezy and lightweight the material is. It will be your go-to vacation dress for years to come! (I also love this maxi with the tie sleeves and beautiful floral print!)
Dresses, in particular, are always my go-to’s for travel–especially when hot weather is involved. Not only are they cooler temperature-wise, but they are a one-and-done outfit. You don’t need to worry about which tops go with which bottoms–they completely take the guesswork out of getting ready. (Because who wants to spend time getting ready when they could be enjoying cocktails al fresco?) I’ll link more of my favorite vacation dresses below!
Now…the accessories!
In addition to dresses, I really only bring one purse whenever I go somewhere like Mexico–it’s this one! It’s from Amazon–and $15–and it’s so adorable–THE BEST. Is it super high quality? NOPE! But you can’t beat the price–and you definitely won’t feel guilty beating it up 😂
Footwear I kept to a minimum, and I pretty much just wore these sandals every single night. I own them in several colors and they are truly my favorite vacation sandal–I wear them all through the summer, I wore them all over Italy, I bring them on every vacation–you name it, they are amazing. They are so comfortable and don’t rub at all! I brought the white version that I wore to the pool every day! I own the camel as well but they also come in black! Some sizes and colors are on sale on Amazon too!
Finally, some fun earrings! The pair I’m wearing here are Baublebar (I love them for fun earrings) and they’re sold out now, but I found a bunch of pairs on Amazon (like this pair and this pair!) for $10-$15! Huzzah! Earrings are really the only kind of dramatic jewelry I wear–everything else, I keep simple. I never take this Dana Rebecca necklace off–it was a bridesmaid gift from my best friend Courtney and it goes with everything!
