You guys know that when you ask for my help with something I go into Inspector Gadget mode. So, when I heard from so many of you that you wanted more office wardrobe inspiration and help with filling your closet with staples that will work for both your 9-5 AND the weekend–obviously I started sniffing around the “workwear” sections of my favorite sites and ordering some business casual wear.
(This, despite the fact that I have not actually worked in a business casual environment for 8 years. So, please keep this in mind. I encourage you to improvise as necessary to tailor any of my outfits for your own work setting! Everyone’s office dress code seems to vary so much these days!)
I didn’t have to sniff around very long, because my search pretty much started and ended with–where else am I shopping these days? Everlane. Every staple they make really just knocks it out of the park.
I ordered two pair of pants–the “work” ankle pant, which I will be styling in another post, and the Italian Go-Weave Easy Pant, which you see here today! Both are amazing and definitely deserve to score a place in your closet.
The latter, though, is what I’m styling today. Let me tell you, they’re like super chic Thanksgiving sweatpants that you could wear to a board meeting. (Joey would be proud.) They are so comfortable, I’m planning to wear them on the plane to New York next week for my 6am flight! (More on that later, I need to fill you in on a cool project in the works!)
The Seriously Best Ever Wear Anywhere Pants
These pants look adorable with heels and a slinky top for a date night, they look awesome with a button-down and pumps for work. They’re great for accountants, lawyers, teachers (even dance teachers–you can move in them!), advertising executives, stay at home moms, work from home moms, photographers…you get it! If you don’t wear a uniform to work, but have to look nice, or on the contrary, really just care about being comfortable–yeah, these are the pants for you.
Sizing tip: They’re supposed to be loose, so I would say they do run true to size, but if you’re in doubt you may want to err on the side of sizing down. (I probablllyy could’ve gone with a size smaller?)
I also love this olive color. It’s a nice switch up from the usual black and navy, although, they do come in those colors too! (I may have to get myself a black pair…)
How I styled them:
To be honest I’m planning to include these in my upcoming business capsule wardrobe so you’ll see them styled many times over, but, for their debut, I wanted to style them in a way that would work for a ton of different occasions in and outside the office, so I chose this adorable striped boatneck sweater–it’s a cotton weave so it’s a really nice, soft, light weight for spring! (Obviously it’s striped, so that wins it lot’s of brownie points ?) I really like the boatneck neckline because it’s a little bit different and gives off a more sophisticated vibe–at least, I think so ?
I also added these fun statement earrings because, why not? They’re from Baublebar (one of my favorite places for cute earrings) and Neal affectionately refers to them as “the hamburger earrings” because he swears the top looks like a bun, the middle circles are the patty and the cheese, and the bottom is the bottom bun…? (I’m not sure what the last dangling circle is but….who knows…maybe a pickle? ?)
These loafers have obviously been a go-to ever since Neal surprised me with them for Christmas–they truly are so so comfortable but if they aren’t in your budget, not to worry–because these Sam Edelman dupes are also adorable and also extremely comfortable!
Okay. I have to admit, I am up late night writing this post and it’s time for bed because my eyes are starting to cross–I’m hopping offline until tomorrow, but I hope you’ve enjoyed this magical pants discovery as much as I have ?
