So, this post could also be called “the perfect dress to wear for the holidays” but, you know, then it took me forever to shoot it. The holidays are now almost over. So, you’ve probably found the dress you need by now ?
This dress DOES happen to also be perfect for New Years Eve, winter weddings, and any other formal occasions you might find yourself attending over the next few months! (Or, you know, Christmas if you haven’t actually found your Christmas dress yet!)
(So, you see–that description was a bitttt lengthy to cram into the title ?)
I actually wore this dress to Danielle and Conor’s post-wedding reception a couple months back and it was the perfect dress for the occasion! It’s SO flattering and it comes in tons of different colors! (Sadly the deep red I’m wearing here is now sold out. But check back often because I have seen it restocked every so often!) This one and this one are also super similar and in stock in red!
I absolutely love the crocheted detail. Which also makes it super versatile to wear in other seasons too. It would be particularly beautiful for fall! The cut is absolutely gorgeous and SO flattering. For sizing, it does run very snug in the rib cage. If you don’t have a small rib cage (or need extra room in the chest area) I would definitely size up.
A couple of you guys asked via Instagram what kind of bra I wear with a dress like this–I don’t wear a bra with it, but if you’d be more comfortable with one, I’d recommend a sticky bra or petals! (Hope that helps!)
Another detail I love about it is that the slip under layer is short and the crocheted outer layer is midi length–so there’s a bit of a “peak a boo” effect showing a bit of leg!
One more common question I’ve been getting lately is what to wear to keep warm with a formal dress–honestly, I never wear anything else other than my coat! (I have this camel one, but it’s also almost sold out, but I really love this similar one in black!) You’re inside–it’s not cold in there ?
