I couldn’t wait to share these two beauty finds with you today, because I actually get excited about using them as part of my daily routine. (Can you often say you get excited to apply an eye cream? Yes, this is a rarity.)
These products work together as a one-two punch to target your under-eye area and I really have noticed a difference since starting to use them!
Soooo…let’s get into it, yes?
Beautycounter Rejuvinating Eye Cream
First up, my new eye cream. If you stop by regularly, you’ll know that I’ve been slowly working through my skincare and makeup drawers and swapping out some of my products for better-for-you, non-toxic versions. (“Safe” is the buzz word that “they” are using right now to describe this.)
One of the first products I purchased in starting my swap was this Beautycounter Rejuvenating Eye Cream. Blair swears by it and it wasn’t too terribly expensive, so I figured I’d give it a try!
It is the real deal you guys.
Before I buy anything, especially skincare, since it’s an investment– I’m kind of a research/review reading psychopath, so the fact that this had 5 star reviews was reassuring. AND they ran an independent study on it–where 89% of women reported under-eye puffiness was reduced and fine lines were diminished. (So, if you didn’t want to take my word for it, I mean….)
A lot of other eye creams I’ve used don’t really change your appearance immediately–it takes several weeks to notice a difference. However, this one makes you look instantly more awake because it has caffeine that literally re-charges your under eye area on the spot. I don’t have many beauty products that give instant gratification, and I am ALL about it. (By the way, if you spend $75 on any Beautycounter order right now, you can get two free lip balms! My other current BC faves are their daily shampoo, sheer lipstick in “coral” and this fine-line reducing facial oil!)
I apply it morning and night, and work the product in with my jade roller. Which brings me to my next point…
You may have seen a few weeks back on instagram stories that I had finally purchased a Jade roller on Amazon after hearing several friends rave about them! (My one friend Michal went so far as to bring hers to a bachelorette party in Florida to keep in the fridge to use every day. That’s commitment!)
Since it was only $33 on Amazon, I decided to give it a whirl seeing as I feel that I am looking older by the day. (UGH. This might have something to do with my recent 29th birthday.)
How it works:
Jade is naturally cool to the touch, but I like to store my roller in the refrigerator or freezer for extra de-puffing power. The cool jade massages your skin to break up fluid, increase circulation, promote cell turnover, improve elasticity, and when used with your favorite products, helps work the product into the skin and greater increase its effects.
The best part is that it’s really easy to use–just start at your neck, and roll–working your way up, eventually, to your hairline. The larger end is used for–as you may guess, larger areas of your face, such as your cheeks, forehead–while the smaller end is best used for smaller areas, like your under-eyes.
It feels like a mini spa treatment and is really nice to do right before you go to bed! (However, I usually use mine in the morning because I love starting my day that way!)
