Before we got engaged, I hardly ever entertained the idea of an at-home workout. Let’s be honest, physical activity is not my idea of a good time, so without the whole “wedding workout” motivation, the only way I could get into working out was if someone was telling me what to do the entire time.
You guys already know how much I love Corepower (I wrote about that here!) But sometimes I just don’t have enough time to spare to get into the studio, therefore, my only option is something quick that I can execute in my living room.
I’ve tried workout videos, but those are just downright boring, so I prefer something that I can do while I’m watching TV. (Is it ironic that I like to watch Barefoot Contessa reruns while doing squats?) There are two workouts that really stand out when I need to squeeze in a quick workout. If you often find yourself in the same situation–I can’t recommend these enough!
BBG (Bikini Body Guide)
Blair got me hooked on BBG awhile back, and I fully vouch that it WORKS. After the first couple of weeks doing BBG a few times per week, even Neal was like, “WOAH! That works!”
The program is made to follow each day, but I usually only do it a couple of times per week in between yoga and I’ve seen great results. The moves are really simple and doable at home. They sometimes call for weights or a bench, but I don’t even own those! (On several occasions I’ve used a stack of coffee table book for weighted squats and a dining chair for step-ups in lieu of a bench, haha!)
The workouts are essentially made up of two different circuits, and each day focuses on a different group of muscles. Each circuit is timed–7 minutes each, then repeat one more time through–28 minutes total! It’s a great workout for a lunch break too–you could totally do it in your office, or even outside in a park!
The Seven Minute Workout
Okay, this is my absolute FAVORITE workout.
…forrrr the sole reason that it only lasts for 7 minutes 😛
This is a good workout for when you’re feeling all, “My life is in shambles and there is absolutely ZERO WAY I can work out today.”
(Guess what: You cannnnn!)
Who doesn’t have 7 minutes? Honestly it’s not even long enough to sweat, so if you’re in a pinch and need to get out the door, you can even get by without showering! While this workout is short, it’s definitely not easy. I use an app called “Wahoo Seven Minutes” and it essentially times you and walks you through each move–30 seconds of going as hard as you can, with 10 seconds of rest in between. It’s pretty genius!

One of my favorite athletic clothing brands
Have you guys heard of Outdoor Voices? They’re an awesome athletic clothing brand that makes the CUTEST stuff. It’s all really well made and super comfortable! (And no, this isn’t sponsored, I just LOVE them so much!)
The material is substantial, so there’s no risk of show-through (plus, it sucks you in and hides everything you want to be hidden, if you know what I mean! :-P) Whenever I need motivation to work out, I pull on this crop top (c/o) and it’s so darn cute, I can’t not get excited about it! The cropped quality always really helps in hot yoga, too–the less material–the better!
I also opted for these high waisted leggings (c/o) which I love because they have a hidden pocket for my credit card, ID, and key! The fabric that they use on all of their items is four way stretch, and it does a great job of wicking away sweat! Both items run pretty true to size as well!
Love your athletic wear! I’m not a big work out at home person either. I’m down for some yoga stretching, but that usually only lasts for 20 minutes and it’s not really “working out.” Before I got married Shaun T’s Insanity was really popular, and using that was one of my better stints of working out at home. 🙂 Otherwise, I’d rather go outside and walk with a friend or go to a class.
I really love the colorblock leggings at Outdoor Voices, which I’d never heard of before. Thanks for the reco!

I love that outfit! It’s super cute!
I love BBG too! I’ve been stalking Outdoor Voice leggings for a while, but the colors make me nervous that I would sweat right through. Do you wear it for BBG (aka, the sweatiest workout) and if so, how do the leggings do with the sweat? Everything claims to be so good at wicking, but I just moved to Texas this summer and the sweat struggle is real! Lol
Perfect combination for yoga and home workouts! Like the blush crop top teamed with blue leggings. By the way I made a post on my favorite crop tops to try this Summer 2018, check my favorite styles right now, over here: http://standoutlook.com/will-crop-tops-be-still-popular-next-summer-2018/ Hope you gonna like the following combos that I gathered in one post.
