The past 24 hours–WOAH you guys. I don’t remember the last time I was this tired! Where do I even begin?
Let’s rewind back to Sunday.
I’ve been trying to eat healthier overall lately, so I made the trek to Trader Joe’s on Sunday to stock up on groceries to make healthy meals all week.
One of those meals I planned to make was this broccoli quinoa bake (which was delicious.) But unfortunately while cooking the quinoa on Tuesday night, I took the lid off and received a lovely second degree steam burn on my right hand. GAH. I immediately texted Shaheen and said “THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I EAT HEALTHY!!!”
Long story short, I had to keep my hand immersed in a glass of cool water the ENTIRE night to keep it from feeling like it was going to burn off. As you can imagine, it’s pretty hard to sleep with your hand in a glass of water as every time I would nod off, it would almost tip over and I would jolt awake again. (Which must have been a hysterical sight, thinking about it now.) So as I’m writing this post I’m running on about 1 hour of sleep in the past 24 hours.
However GOOD NEWS is that my hand is now totally fine and it no longer hurts. YAY. And despite only running on one hour of sleep, I got to spend the entire next day with Blair, Kelly and Shaheen shooting a very fun project with Kendra Scott, which you know, is still pretty fun even when you’re that tired. (Side note: disguising a burn blister on your right hand while shooting rings and bracelets is slightly problematic, however, we made it work. We’re allll good, guys.)
Anyway, I recently purchased this colorful wrap dress (perfect for Valentine’s Day!) and I have to admit, I’m not sure how I’ve gotten by this long without one. I always thought they would look…I don’t know, dowdy on me? But I’m IN LOVE. The shape is so flattering, and because of the combination of longer sleeves and cheerful colors, it’s perfectly suitable to wear year round, and will look just as cute to wear on a date come spring and summer! I’m also equally obsessed with these Kendra Scott earrings. Paired with the wrap dress, they make for an awesome retro, yet modern 70’s vibe. (If they had heart eyed emoji’s on WordPress, I would totally insert one here.)
So I guess the entire point of the beginning of this whole story is to A. Update you on what’s been happening this week and B. Explain to you why this is such a short and rambling post, because honestly my brain is NOT working. So I’m going to bed right now.
(Hopefully I can wake up really early to proofread this before most of you read it. But if not, you’ll still be my friend, right?)
